Do you have a signature fall?

Usually flat on my back, broken up only by landing on the ground pole of a fence last year and fracturing my coccyx. Safely said the post painful thing that has ever happened. ever.

Whenever I fall its shoulders first hitting ground then body swings to the left and hit the knee. It doesn't matter what way I fall off its always ends the same. Is anybody else like this or is it just me.

does on your bum count hahhaha
.bum
.head
. face plant

somehow i always land on my arse and then it changes

i always go for a champions hat they have really helped me through rough falls.

Stormy Moments, be grateful you DON'T put your hands out, quickest way to a broken wrist!

As I very recently found out!! Don't know what happened but in 9 years my old bag has never bolted with me then 7 weeks ago she did - straight into trees!

I don't know what happened after she bolted but my boss said as she heard the commotion and looked round she saw me get bounced off the horses ass and spun around. I broke both my wrists and cut my my knee. :(

Have now got a plate in the left wrist and on Tuesday I had 3 wires removed from the right wrist. I also have a nice scar on my right knee which needed 13 stiches. It looks like a shark smiling :)

Somehow I managed to do no damage to my face and didn't bang my head. But I will still be buying a new one hat.

The worst bit of all I'm not allowed to ride until March :(

always, always flat on my back. Bloomin painful! Fell off my new boy for the first time this evening and debating whether or not I need a trip to A+E :(

I seem to land on the head and then do a neat, slow motion forwards roll. And the worst injury I've had from landing on my head? Blood blister under my eye! My poor hats on the other hand...

Nearly always over the horses right shoulder and land on my bum and right side. Did this 6 weeks ago and broke a rib! Second most common is jumping a fence minus the horse. There's nothing like a dirty stop to send you flying.

I usually land head/face first...i buy new helmets often... :-)

Yep, me too. It can really hurt. Once I was unconscious for twenty minutes, another time resulted in a bad neck for two years. Jumping falls aren't usually so bad as they usually result in a fall out of the side door. I once had a rotational fall. Unbelievably both my mare and myself were totally unhurt, but it was terrifying whilst it was happening.

Out the side door (usually right!) onto my upper arm and shoulder, then onto my side - I once managed to land on a cardboard box under a 2'9 upright whilst leaving the pole in place!

(yes I did get my foot stuck, but because my stirrup bars were down the stirrup came off ;))

Agree!

I had a semi rotational fall on my little welshy (she twisted to land on her side rather than going A over T), we were both unhurt but it was definitely my scariest fall.

I usually land in a very undignified heap, never onto my feet sadly. I always land on my back and smash the back of my head in a kind of ricochet effect. I've not ridden since my last fall in April :/

Yup, out the side door and onto my head or my thigh. Usually when he's done a farting buck whilst leaping sideways cos a pigeon flew out of a hedge (and he's on the way home). A lot of energy been saved up for this, I can tell you.
