I know! It's ridiculou what some yards charge! I was very lucky to find such a friendly yard that doesn't cost the earth but heard about it from word of mouth.

Thought I best point out that my yard is one of the best value around though! I know a yard about 10 minutes away that would have been around £50 a week DIY with bedding and hay so they do vary ALOT.

I pay £15 a week for stable and grass and then buy hay and bedding from the yard;
usually 1 bale of hay a week at £3.25
and Bedding is ecoflax (alternative to shavings) is £6.75 every couple of weeks.
Usually my weekly bill is around £22.

I agree that working at home is best. I have a young pony who we're training up and she learns much quicker in a quite familiar place. Even if she does still have the occasional day when everything she sees is a monster!
