    Breakaway tie up rings?

I use a similar set up to the blocker tie rings. I made mine from cutting an eggbut snaffle in half! I use a 14ft lead rope (i use these for handling anyway). They are hands down the best way to teach a horse to tie. We teach all the youngsters using these. Of course, the ground work needsto be...

Absolutely tragic. My heart breaks for her family.❤

    No rain and no grass

Drought is the absolute pits 😔 Victoria, in Aus (and South Australia) is in a shocking drought. We didn't have rain for 6 months, not a drop, on top of a dry winter and abysmal spring. Dams dried up, absolutely no Autumn growth, just dust. We got some rain a couple of weeks ago which has given...

    Scoot Boots or Flex Boots?

Scoots! They have a new gaiter called the multipurpose gaiter. It's made of TPU and is very tough, it can replace the mud straps in certain conditions and make putting the boot on easier. Also helps with twisting apparently 😊 I love Scoots and use them on heaps of different horses.

Shod to barefoot - where should the pressure should go on hoof landing

Just popping in to say, that if you like the Scoots, the new Therarides are fantastic. The pad they come with is excellent, it provides support and protection. Might be worth looking into?

    Storing hay/straw outside

We store our roundbales outside (a years worth). They are on pine poles to lift them off the ground and are covered in a heavy duty truck tarp. Never had a problem.

    Best camera for trailer?

Might sound odd, but we use a wireless baby monitor. Can usually pick them up very cheaply on market place. My OH mounted it in the front and then powered it using the lighting cables. The headlights on the car have to be on to power the camera which isn't a problem as I drive with the lights...

am i missing something?! - feed buckets

We use feed bins made from recycled tyres with a solid rubber base. Cheap, and totally indestructible! I buy cheap plastic buckets (usually used ones that have had, say, crushed garlic in them. I just clean them, and they come with lids!) Easy to stack, carry and clean. Can makeup loads of feeds...

    Scoot Boots

A professional fitter would be best, someone who has the fit kits and can fit up a pair so you can lunge the horse to check they stay put. Definitely try the Enduro model, they offer a lot of flexibility for fit with the adjustable heel bulb, and the mud strap offers a lot of security (they can...

To shoe or not to shoe - that is the question?

Hoof boots. And I'd be checking the crack in the hind for something like a seedy toe infection.

    Mylo & Myka

Stunning markings on them both, what a gorgeous pair to have the red and the black! You're going to need to invest in a lot of chalk 🙈😂

Less lameness with well bred horses

When looking for TB mares to cross with our stallion, we looked at mares with good performance lines, good conformation, and who had been successful on the track with long careers. I found mares that had retired sound at 7yo, having won a decent amount on the track. It told me that they were...

    Opinions on yard issue

I had this at a yard I was on. Quite a full place, I was open and honest about the level of eventing I was doing at the time. Was mentioned to me that I would have basically exclusive access to the sand school, as most liveries were retired or out of work. I first twigged something was a bit...
