My pasture is weak and thin and needs some help. I'm working out a proper pasture rotation plan for the coming season change and want to rest and reseed a couple of my paddocks. I'll harrow merry-hell out of all of them in the meantime.
However, I would love some recommendations on the best...
Thank you for your reply!
They have a Himalayan salt lick in the field and one in their stable, as well as a Likit they got for Christmas - though I think they're pretty much sweets for horses. I'll look into the Rockies lick.
They have a little hard feed at the moment, morning and night (a...
I have two eight-month-old New Forest foals, Billy and Kit.
They have 24-hour turnout with access to a stable for flat-out snoozes, which they take advantage of, often.
However, with all the rain our paddocks are getting really boggy and waterlogged and I have upped my hay...
Sorry I'm doing a double whammy post here, I hope that's ok.
I have two colts, both New Forest Ponies, both six months old.
They have vastly different personalities, the little chestnut (Billy) seemed like he was going to be more challenging, but actually he's bottom of the pack and...
Billy is really nosey. He's a bit more jumpy than Kit but definitely can't resist coming over and seeing what we're about. They still have their lovely velvety foal coats.
I'll let you know how we get on with the fences!
IT WORKED!!! The chestnut is called Billy, and the grey is called Kit. There's really long-winded reasons behind their names, but I won't bore you with it!
Ha ha ha! I'm sorry for no pictures. That was unacceptable.
I've never used imgur but I've set up an account (especially for you!) so let's see if this works (I bet it doesn't!) :
I used to do so well in Chase Me Charlies as a kid on my Forrester, he'd face anything and clear it. I'm...
Hi there,
I have a couple of five month old New Forest foals arriving in a week and I'm hoping for some advice on how to introduce them to electric fencing.
We have some council-owned trees bordering our land (all oak and sycamore typically) and while I wait for the council to sort them...
They were great. Pretty well run and absolutely rammed with people!
There was a lot of lovely colts brought in from the last drift presumably, all just a few months old, and it was really interesting watching the way the different commoners handled them. Some just drove them round and round...
Great advice, thank you. I think it’ll be all I can do not to be there at the crack of dawn!
As practice I’ve made some notes on the catalogue of some interesting lots from the first two sections, I’m going to have a good look at them tomorrow and see how they go...
