As happy as the pink boy is living his best retired life i cant help but feel i now need to intervene with his weight. My plan is to introduce a muzzle over autumn to stop him expanding then over winter he can have a little clip and winter will hopefully do its thing
My plan is to introduce a...
Are the inside of his lips and cheeks also mucous membranes ? I like the glove and rubbing idea:)
I can try with apple sauce first then put the gel on one finger and apple on another ?
I need to clip my boys legs again. He can be a bit of a fidget.
I’ve got gel from the vets and have seen it needs to go under the tongue. He isn’t good with wormers. Retired so isn’t used to a bridle ect any more.
Can anyone think of ideas to give it to him without the syringe and stressing him...
Thanks all, good to see there are people doing similar things already :)
My concern with most of the ones out there is that the ingredients are not stated … I know this is perfectly within the law but not something i am a fan of. I’d plan on listing all the ingredients just like a human product...
ah wonderful feedback, thank you all :)
The plan would be to hopefully get a local charity involved so they can be donated the product and get a percentage of profits :) .... i dont think i have ever purchased an equine product that kicks back to the horses in need.

Hi,
I'm doing a little bit of market research and was looking for some opinions.
Since retiring my boy i don't ride very much and spend most of my time just caring and patching him back up :) im very content doing this but i have got a bit of a reputation as a potion queen!
Now my question...
Thanks all, I might take a bib and see :)
I know he has got warm a few times as when he gets hot he will roll in the wet mud but degrees in December is just not normal!
I can’t get him moving anymore than he is… and to be fair he moves a lot as he is grazing not standing at hay.
The boy is doing great enjoying his retirement … possibly a little to much!
He is out 24/7 unrugged and on 12 ish acres in a herd of 5 / no hay. The weather hasn’t been tobad and he is coping very well. I’m hoping he will drop some more weight before spring comes along!
I’m wondering if giving...
So I mixed the wonder gel and spray yesterday, it was a gel all day but this morning I’ve noticed it’s turned to liquid , is that what you would expect or am I risking putting a chemical reaction onto his skin?
He’s only got pink skin so there wouldn’t be dark patches to check on his legs.
ooo I love honey heel, I’ve used it in past on mud fever and it was amazing. I have tried it on his leg ( just once) and because of how sticky and thick it was he really didn’t like it going on. It was just dragging...
Yes, we did this a few times, he isn’t stomping or scratching so I’m really convinced that’s not the issue. He makes it quiet obvious when he is bothered by parasites so I’m going with my gut and ruling that issue out for now.
Thanks all :) glad I’m not crazy and this might be a good option for now
Sudo cream ect Is to heavy, I don’t want to clog his skin as that’s what the flamazine seemed to do :( every time I didn’t apply it the skin looked better but as it should help I persevered.
cpl is a condition that...
I’ve been given scp spray from my vet to try and get my horses legs to settle down, we seem to have a bit of cpl and hyperkeratosis going on. We have tried steroids and flamazine to no success :(
the main ingredient in the scp spray is zinc oxide which is good… the only issue is it’s an aerosol...
