Breeding Stallion Owners - pilot dissertation questionnaire

I haven't seen the actual question, so could be wrong, but with my stallion we do offer on-site AI with fresh semen. He only does AI, but for visiting mares this is AI with fresh semen, not chilled. So for my boy and possibly others, this would be a legitimate distinction.

    what's everyone expecting in 2014??

Can't wait to see your new Tobago/Venezia baby - as you know, she's one of my all-time favourite mares! No foals of my own, as I can only afford to keep one horse, but I love seeing all his babies every year. :)

Those with stallions...what age did you first breed with them?

My boy started at 3. Slightly different situation as there are no official gradings for pure-bred Arabs, but he had been shown very successfully in hand (international champion) and at the international shows they are assessed and scored on type, conformation and movement by 5 judges. I...

    Embla Stud

I wonder what they failed Statesman on  Sounds like a super horse. I had a friend years ago with a cracking hunter by Statesman. She always said this was the best horse she'd ever owned.

    Finally a mini Diva!

Ah - that's the name I was going to suggest! Cute filly!

    ai costs..

For chilled semen, the stud where my boy stands charge £75 for collection, analysis, preparation, packaging etc, plus postage at cost (usually about £15 - £20). But his stud fee is only payable 2 weeks after the birth of a live, healthy foal. No deposit, nothing on October 1st, nothing...

    Meet Merlin aka Maesfen Magician!

Someone suggested a SwapShop yesterday - but I love the Multi Coloured, which is also very apt in this case! Pat wanted chestnut filly, but silly Tobago sent chestnut filly to LG Sport Horses (for their Quidam de Revel mare LG Lonnie), who would have been perfectly happy with a colt.:o They have...

    Meet Merlin aka Maesfen Magician!

Got visitors here so just quick post... SO happy about Sparky's last-minute reprieve and fab new home! And new boy Merlin looks magical (sorry he's not a girl - have had words with Tobago about mixing up the orders: 4 fillies and 2 colts so far this year, which would be great if he'd just...

    Any Thoughts on AMOUR G?

You have great taste yourself! I love all of these! ;) Tam was bred/owned by eventrider23 - lovely boy, such a sad loss. Saw Amour G at SSGB and thought he looked super - and definitely more substantial than in his photos, as I think someone else has already noted.

    Stallions and turn out

Where's the 'like' button! So nice to see someone who doesn't automatically assume that what works for her stallion is the best and only way to do things! Love those photos of your boy happily playing with his companions, but as you rightly say, this isn't possible for everyone. Nothing to...

For Sparky & Manny Fans! Video/pic.

Thank you Pat! I hope Bea's new Tobagoling is a filly! Also I know you can't keep entires, but I really hope someone gives Sparky the chance to be another Fairlyn Gemini...he's certainly starting to look the part now. :)

For Sparky & Manny Fans! Video/pic.

Well, he's certainly turning into the proverbial swan now! :) I managed to watch the videos on my laptop, but this computer refuses to access photobucket, so is there any chance you could email these videos to me in some form that isn't photobucket? I'd love to include a clip of Sparky in a...
