Jacob gets this all the time. And had them a couple of weeks ago too. Never seems to bother him and we just carry on as normal.

    Lorry advertisements

I am also looking for exactly the same as the original poster. And contacted a couple of people advertising good lorries cheap. The responses i got were almost identical, someone had died, quick sale needed, ebay link would be sent so i could pay as they had been given fake notes before and...

    Heat in foot

Hi Last week (Fri) my horse was shod, he has very flat sensitive feet with thin soles at the best of times and unfortunately the farrier slipped on one of his back feet and nicked the sole by the toe making him bleed. He flushed the wound immediately with iodine and packed it and then...

    Tall men riding tall horses?!

My OH is 6'8 and says he outgrew horses when he was 17......bearing in mind he grew up on Sark in the Channel Islands he spent a lot of time with horses in his youth. I have a 17hh Thoroughbred but he hasnt ridden him, we feel that he might be too heavy despite being overweight. Would love to...

Interested in hunting in West Oxfordshire...

Thank you Happy Hunter, that is very kind and possibly I would take you up on the offer. The whole idea is a little bit daunting with regards to getting all the etiquette correct and whether we are up to the task. Generally (famous last words) he is a very good boy, will go in front or behind...

Interested in hunting in West Oxfordshire...

I have only recently discovered that it is possible to hunt without jumping with some hunts. I know there are several localish hunts but no more than that. Is there a hunt local to West Oxfordshire that would be suitable? We are just starting to learn to jump, but havent progressed to fixed...

how do I prevent saddle sores (mine!) on a riding holiday?

Sounds absolutly lovely :) Im just back from a week in spain, up to 7 hours a day in the saddle. I recommend a Heather Moffat seat saver or similar (my saddle was NOT comfortable) vaseline just in case you need it, and several pairs of jods in case one pair rubs for some reason. Enjoy :)

And so the silent treatment begins......

I think nearly every yard must have one! How worrying...... I am currently receiving the silent treatment from a fellow DIY livery, after her swearing and shouting at me and my OH. She seems to have been further enraged by the fact that my work allows me to ride and box up in the afternoon...

Suspensory injury success stories please :)

My 9 year old Thoroughbred gelding, did a mild suspensory injury in a hind leg in June of this year. Due to him also having upward fixation of the patella the vet did not want him out of work, or on box rest as that would get worse, We had to get the balance right. He had 2 weeks of 12...

Horse injured by new horse being turned out.

I now know for sure that this was the same yard as me. I only stated the facts as I know them and also what was seen/wasn't seen. I am aware of Belair31 which is also on the same yard and was around much of the day in question. I daresay she is a little emotional at having her yard and yard...
