Took some pictures of Osha in the sun today and realised I have had over just over a year, how time flies!
You sometimes forget how much they change and grow until you look back at old photos.
From a very scrawny 3 year old, to a slightly less awkward 4 year old!
Any one else with some...
We do lots of sleeping around here!
Makes me laugh though as she has a huge bed but often chooses to sleep on the floor and use a wooden sleeper as a pillow?
The operation to remove the pins was actually relatively minor and just a day case, I just had to take it easy for a few days but was fully weight bearing and went about as normal! Just something to bear in mind if you struggle with long term pain.
Hi,
I did similar, had a horse fall on me. Was operated and pinned, non wait bearing for 3 months. I had the accident in September and I remember getting back ion around the following March, but probably didn’t properly ride until a couple of months after that. I had a lot of trouble and pain...
I guess I am thinking that inevitably, even if she is backed and goes well will a 5 years old be right for me where I am in life now.. with house renovation, work and lack of facilities? As they will inevitably need some hand holding and there will be more ups and downs.
However she might be...
This is currently my more favoured option, keep her through winter and send her away in spring.
I don’t really feel she is physically ready to be ridden away yet.
The thought of a long hard winter to sell come spring is a little off putting! 😆🙈 but ultimately I would be OK to do that.
Hi HHOers,
Looking for some friendly advice ☺️
I bought an unhandled 3y/o filly from Ireland last year. She spent around 6 months on grass livery and then moved home in May.
She came quite feral, but I have tinkered with her over the summer.
She is still a bit nervous/quirky however she is...
Do you have any pictures of his feet and x rays?
Without looking I would guess the farrier is leaving his heel too high and trimming the toe too short.
Do you have any picture out of interest?
Hope he is feeling better on his feet soon!
Ours were very happy to go out in the hay field at the weekend after being in a bare paddock.
The silly things still wait by the gate in the mornings to come in.
I think Osha just wants her beauty sleep 😆
How about feeding with a nose bag? I see some track systems using this method to feed multiple horses without worrying about horses stealing each others. Seems to work well and might help with the mess.
My ID Finn who I imported from Ireland is up for sale from his current home, through no fault of his own.
He might suit you Birker2020

Hopefully a keeper! Now we are settled and have facilities at home I am very hopeful she will be here to stay. She is incredibly clever, I look forward to working with her more.
