Horse doped for vetting - positive blood test

Anyone on here successfully sued a dealer for buting a horse for the vetting? A friend has had results of testing the bloods taken at a 5 stage vetting and it's come back positive for NSAID. Horse is now unrideable through lameness :(

    Horse Eating His Own Poo!

Could not believe it when I went down to skip out last night. Found Charlie chowing down on his own poo. Grim. He had his foot up too, as if it was a really tasty treat. I've never seen him do this before, he had plenty of hay, is fed on chaff and Bailey's Lo-Cal and a carrot in every feed. Why?

    Head shaking [tossing]

If it's a pollen allergy try Gobal Herbs Pollenex. It works with one of ours. When they are working there is more blood flow, including to the lining of the nose, making it more sensitive, which is why some of them only headshake when exercising.

Longest time you have had to poltice a foot??

Just over 3 weeks. Pus came out of the inside edge of the hoof at first and we thought when that stopped it had finished. But he was still lame and so we continued. What we didn't know was that it had underrun the sole and eventually it burst out of the heel bulb. Masses of pus so no wonder the...

    Calmer needed..recommendations please x

I'd add to the Nupafeed recommendations. We use it for Big Ginger Lad and it's the only thing that works on him. Takes about 3 days of the loading dose. We visited a race yard (he's an ex Nat Hunt racer) and that's what they use there. A few others on the yard use it too and have have similarly...

Hot tubbing - any bright ideas?

Sounds like a good idea, if he would let us close enough for a split second lol

Hot tubbing - any bright ideas?

The Big Ginger Lad has another abscess. We are hot poulticing him but the vet says that this time we should "really persevere" with hot tubbing him too. We've tried this in the past and he is just terrified. But we tried again last night... Shallow rubber trug with no handles he can get...

    Best Glucosamine Supp?

Vet has recommended the Big Ginger Lad has a glucosamine supplement (along with the other 94 supplements he already has!). Any thoughts on the best one to use. His Majesty doesn't really like powder supplements so I'm thinking on the lines of a liquid one....

Hairy pony that's terrified of clippers...

Ours was also unclippable without sedation when we got him. We got the Michael Peace DVD and he's now not bothered in the slightest. Bl00dy miracle. Took about a fortnight of desensitisation. The only thing he is still not happy with is having his face clipped. The gist is don't tie him up...

    Michael Peace

We used his "How To Clip" DVD last year to clip our "unclippable" horse. We got him when he was 8 with a note from the previous owner who bred him which said "must sedate to clip". Followed the DVD to the letter and he clipped brilliantly. Very calm. Never had any experience with him personally...

    Crack along Coronet band?

Went down to see the boys last night and one has a crack about 5-6cms long along the coronet band of his left fore. There is no heat, no pus and he's not lame, which I think rules out an abcess trying to burst out there - or does it? I pressed it really quite hard and he didn't react. He's quite...

    Headshaking-bit of a puzzle

One of ours started a few weeks ago too. It's pollen in his case. Only does it outside although he's obviously got an itchy nose when in the stable as he holds his nose against the stable bars for relief. Gets earlier every year and lasts longer. Even though your boy is 20 he could have just...
