FEI CONDEMNS ROLLKUR - SEE CHAT ROOM!

I see nothing wrong with posting mainly about Rollkur if that is what you care about, in fact if you truely understand the principles of dressage you find rollkur upsetting both from a welfare angle and a training angle. I think it was perhaps a little harsh to attack someone on the photos...

The FEI condemns Hyperflexion in any equestrian sport!

It is all very odd, it is also important to note that Rollkur horses cannot work in a way that matches how the descriptions are written in the rulebook. From this you can only draw 2 conclusions either the judges are wrong or the rulebook is one, i think we know whichj came first!!! A need to...

    Riding in side reins...?

I personally do not agree that any training aid helps a horse, the side reins will essentially put the horse on the forehand but many horses are on the forehand these days. Everyone knows that is the wrong end to work on, you will never improve the hind end by manipulating the front but you...

    Have H&H promoted bad practice?

The point is not whether you can use it safely but surely you must understand that if Robert Oliver says he usues a steam cleaner or another trainer says he uses a pressure washer despite the manufacturers safety instructions explicitly say you should not use these for this purpose it will...

    Have H&H promoted bad practice?

with the pressure washer article people did write in and H&H responded by saying that they report and are not there to judge peoples pratices. However i believe that H&H do influence people and therefore have a duty to ensure that what they report will not indirectly cause harm to animals.

    Have H&H promoted bad practice?

In the issue of horse and hound for 2/7/2009 there was an interview with Robert Oliver who in his things i could not live without stated it was his steam cleaner which he uses to clean horses. The cleaner shown in the photo claims to release steam at 150 degrees C and also advises that it is...

    Earmuffs- the latest shocking revelation......

Even if the excuse is flies, there are ways to prevent this without potentially acquiring an unfair advantage.

    Earmuffs- the latest shocking revelation......

I think earmuff's are a nonsense idea, totally missing half the point of dressage. Carl and Anky are entitled to use them under the rules but surely the rules are missing the point. Maybe i am a purist, or maybe i believe the horse should be focused on the rider and failure to achieve this is...

    Freelance Grooming

I have been involved with starting a similar business. The general thing is to be on the yard, if you are there all day you will get work. Advertising is costly and generally ineffective, the best i can recommend is using notice boards in feed merchants/tack shops or in your local hunt or...

    Am I too heavy?

i dont think it is too heavy for any horse, however i do believe we should try and be fit for our horses, muscle is ballanced and fat isnt. However Geoff Billington is a lump of lard on the ground but somehow when he rides a horse he is light and ballanced, although i do think he is a few too...
