Do we live in a 3rd world country?

Who on earth do you think you are to suggest that someone is giving their horse the incorrect care? Yes, the clips a little on the dodgy side, but the horse does not appear unwell or uncared for. He may be a little on the light side but if you read the advert, the lady does say that when she...

Just being nosey.. what level rider do you think you are?

This thread makes me laugh. It's amazing how inflated some people's ego's are! To me - an experienced rider has confidence, talent and ability. It is these factors combined that produce an experienced rider. For this, the rider must ride each horse individually, consistantly and...

HY VIS, WHY DO I NEED HY VIS?? CARS HAVE HEADLIGHTS DONT THEY?

Yes, but at the end of the day it's her decision whether she wears hi-vis or not. Who are you to scream and shout at her? Her horse, her decision. Just saying.

What height do you think is too big for a 13.2hh pony?

Thanks for all the responses. Really helps me out. The owner seems keen for me to try him out, get a feel for him. She doesn't seem to think I'd look too large on him. I have recently competed a 14hh pony for a friend of mine and my legs are short (sadly!) so got away with it. I'm 21, so yes...

What height do you think is too big for a 13.2hh pony?

Just a quick question to get some opinions. I have been offered a talented little eventing pony (13.2hh) to ride and compete. He is of lightweight build, Welsh X. I am 5ft 5, and a size 8. Realistically, am I too big for him? I don't want to look ridiculously tall on him and waste his...

    how sad are you?!

ME ME MEEEEEEEE. Before I got my own horse I'd be cycling in the jumping position ;) Aaaand, used to sit on the stair rail praciticing my position! Also used to set up little jumps in the garden and 'canter' round in a nice uphill motion :o I'm not sad or anything ;)

Boot problems - what would you do?

Was sort of expecting that figure, better than £200 I suppose. Hope it doesn't take too long to sort, can't bear riding in my old chaps for much longer. Will take them in tomorrow.

Boot problems - what would you do?

Have had my long boots for 6 or so months now and recently the zip bust. They were expensive boots - English Gaitor Company so was a bit narked, but am planning on getting the zip repaired rather than splurging out on £200 for a new pair. Does anyone have any experience with places repairing...

What do you think of this mare?

Just scanning Horsemart, not particularly busy day work-wise, so thought I'd take a look at what was around for the under £1000 catagory which is always 'interesting'. Anyway... more onto the subject, what do you think of this mare? Is it just me or does the first pic do her no justice? Looks...

my new horse and a pic!

He is gorgeous! I must admit that other thread did get a bit unecessarily heated! Good luck with your lovely boy.

Can your yard stop you from getting sharer?

Obviously it is up to the YO at the end of the day, but I am failing to see why they should have a problem with it in the first place... If the reason for finding a sharer is financial, surely the YO is better off allowing the sharer and the owner of the horse being financially stable (pays...

URGENT question pleasee!! Competing at the wknd

Hoping you bunch of clever people can help me out with this one... I have always competed in my white stock & stock shirt (mainly dressage) but now looking to buy a tie as well for summer shows etc. What colour tie should I wear with a black showjacket with red underlining, Thanks in...

How much should you hear/expect from an owner when you have their horse on full loan?

Before we bought our 2, I had a horse on full loan. We kept him at the yard he'd been at for 6-7yrs, and owner would occasionally pop up, say hello and see how we were getting on. I also let her have the odd plod along on him when she did come visiting - and she'd always come laden with gifts!
