    Scottish sports horse finals

And once again, 1st Prize goes to Flyingbuck for his ingenious replies! From what I can glean from this, he does not give a “flyingbuck” about anyone’s opinion barring his own. To continually ignore the comments from current and potential breeders, and to continually publicise the event for...

    Scottish sports horse finals

Dusty, as you can see the Chairperson of this breed society has posted several times on this thread and has NEVER been gracious enough to reply to any of the negative comments, only the handful of positive ones. So one has to ask themselves, if this is who is sitting at the top of the tree and...

    Scottish sports horse finals

Maybe the SSH should send out a feedback questionnaire to all the entrants (including qualifiers) and get their honest opinions directly. This would be the more "forward thinking" approach, and included in this would be the direct feedback to the “end users” from those questionnaires, not just...

    SSH Stallion Grading Results

Opie I must congratulate you for being so open as to your stallion’s results. Most stallion owners would shy away from the thread and ask it to be removed perhaps, so well done on coming into this thread and posting all the relevant information. I think it is a bit of a misconception of...

    Scottish sports horse finals

LOL, I think you are on a losing battle on this one. HHO forums only seem to be used by Flyingbuck for publicity only. Just look at the SSH stallion grading thread as well, and what you are saying should come as no surprise. In other words you can send in anything you wish, but do not be...

    SSH Stallion Grading Results

Flyingbuck if you ACTUALLY care to read JMs whole post then you will see that they are making a point about the whole grading system, and as Blair was only open to graded stallions they make a fair point. The grading marks of all the stallions was available on the SSH website two years ago...

    SSH Stallion Grading Results

delphipuppy, perhaps bettysmum made a note on this stallion as it was the second time he had been presented and subsequently failed. At the end of the day if any horse goes forward for scrutiny, be that a show, grading etc, then the owners have to understand that people will talk, be that good...

    SSH Stallion Grading Results

Yes he has, he failed two years ago. I can only go on what I was told yesterday, but the judges said it was conformational faults. But I believe by all accounts the owner of the stallion made their feelings well known in front of everyone.

    SSH Stallion Grading Results

Flyingbuck, I read in your guidelines that if stallions are to be shod that they must have a full set of shoes on for the grading. Yet from the pictures several only have front shoes on? Do the SSH frequently deviate away from their rules when grading stallions? I was also speaking to...

    Futurity - A Question

Even minorities should be allowed a voice I think, otherwise how do you manage to educate everyone if you dont listen to everyone. You are saying that the Futurity is only to be used as a tool then to assess horses, yet the purpose of your Premiums as defined on the BEF website would differ...

    Futurity - A Question

I went on this morning to look through the results of the Futurity and one thing struck me. With several horses getting marks of 9 or above (some must have received scores of 10 in some areas), I wondered what these "ideal horses" looked like. As obviously to be awarded 10 out of 10 must...

    Blair Horse Trials Stallion Parade

Is anyone going to watch the stallion parade at Blair in a couple of weeks? Good to see Blair putting on such an event for breeders. http://www.blairhorsetrials.co.uk/stallionparades.cfm

    So how was the Expo?

[ QUOTE ] Ken did a very good first attempt particularly with the lack of support. [/ QUOTE ] He only has himself to blame for this, and has to take responsibility for his previous actions, where I believe he was disparagement to those people he now seeks to get business from. People will...

    So how was the Expo?

[ QUOTE ] How many have risked several thousand pounds of their own money running an event? [/ QUOTE ] I cannot see how the organisers risked any of their own money. They had a facebook page, which was free. They had an old website they used, which did not cost them much. The entry fees...

    So how was the Expo?

Well I attended yesterdays "event" for want of a better word. The Positives * Chance to see several stallions under one roof. * Chance to speak to the owners and riders of the stallions. * There were a few nice stallions there and it was good to see some of them in the flesh. * All the...
