I think I may have been wrong in saying the pony looked wild - probably just because it was trotting/broke into canter it just looked... speedier than a pony should on a road? Even if the pony was spooked she wasn't acting particularly responsible about it, poor pony :(
I'm sure I can find out whose horses they are - we are in a small area and everyone seems to know each other and their horses, so I'm sure that the lady who runs my yard knows them, and I happened to mention it to her in passing today so hopefully the message with be passed via word of mouth...
So, I'm a learner driver, I turned 17 not many months ago, and today my dad decided he'd take me out for practise, as parents do, on some quieter roads around where we live. L plates and everything.
We turned onto the road leading to the village green - the busiest road in the area - and...
I really like your attitude TG, I think it's brilliant. You're 16 right? Me too - and I see so many, some of my friends even, brattily pushing their parents around demanding stuff - but rarely being grateful for what they have and the experiances and oppourtunities they get.
Bonnie seems lazy...
I haaave woken up late - 10 o clock , gona into town for a few bits, made pizza, eaten pizza and am going to bed for an early night - gonna see me hoss tomo :):D
Are there any out there?
I was thinking of giving it a go, just out of interest really.
Has anyone ridden English for however many years (for me it's 10, I started when I was 6) and then tried western and swapped completely? Was it easy to do that?
Thanks :D
I paid £15/week for 3 days maximum, sometimes contributed for shoes/hay/feed/rent/equipment. Horse was sometimes nasty to ride, bites/bucks etc, and owner wanted to school it for her. I shared cos parents wanted to see commitment before buying me my own. I got to hack, the hacking was awesome...
I've tried that, A has a different person to do back/saddle/dentist/farrier and is all 'Nooo but this person knoooows my hooorse' They don't. They knew her old horse. Not this one. Grrr.
Hmm, hadnt thought of that, I will probs need a sharer in September when we all go back to school/college as my schedule is just mayhem, but I am worried it could get akward - what would she say to A? The other thing is, I'm not sure whether the owner doenst care or just doesn't know... I think...
Hello :) This is gonna be a bit long and possibly complicated...I apologise in advance.
There is this woman at my yard, we shall call her A, who owns a horse, B. She has a teenager (not her daughter or any relation at all) who shares her horse, so rides, grooms, poo picks, feeds etc. 3 times...
Aha I have a spooky one...
So I was riding my old horse out on my own, he was a fizzy tb who didnt need much help to get a bit crazy. Was on a sort of gallops, just a grassy bit along a side of a field that the stupid people from my yard used to gallop along whatever the weather (slippy, hard...
I tried the getting cross and smacking and it didn't go down too well...she tried to spin and rear so next time it was a gentler approach, and when she walked forward she got plently of praise.
I reckon she's just trying me out tbh
