There have been a couple of posts on this is the past, but I haven't found anything particularly conclusive so thought I'd ask the question(s).. :)
Does anyone have one? What do you think of it? Is it robust? Has it helped with core strength/proprioception/general balance etc?
I realise...
Agree the pictures need to show the horse off better, and I'm another one who gets put off by the 'must go to this type of home' wordings - I just assume I won't be good enough and move on!
Ironically, if I hadn't just taken a welsh D on loan while my spotty grows up, this would have been just...
For those that want recommendations - I have a couple of brands from my running days that work, and I'm rather top heavy! Firstly the ubiquitous Berlei shock absorber, but my main one is my Enell - it's neither pretty or cheap, but by golly does it keep everything tied down. It has about 15...
Chelworth Fields near Cirencester - usually have some lovely spotties (Stallions Dirks Orion and Orions Cinnabar) although this year they've had a couple of solid colours. But they do have a few spot colt and a chestnut & white blanket spot filly within your budget.
I'm not anything to do with...
Twice a day.
Summer - Check her in the field first thing in the morning, plus check the fencing to make sure they haven't broken it overnight..
Then bring her in for a feed, feet, groom, possibly groundwork and a more thorough check in the evening. After which she is then set free once more...
Funnily enough I thought the same thing yesterday when coming onto the H&H site and 3 of the 4 thumbnail ads on the homepage started with 'stunning' - and priced at £1600, £4000 and £10000. So it's an adjective that covers a wide price range!
My horse is spotty :)
I'd second the xtrail - I have a 2005 version that I use for getting to and from work. Economy seems pretty good.
I haven't towed with it myself yet, although that was the intention when buying it, but my brother borrowed it to tow their trailer across a muddy field when his car couldn't...
Parelli didn't invent groundwork..although there is some useful stuff hidden within the circus type goings on.. ;)
Have a look at the Dorrance brothers and Ray Hunt. Or anyone else for that matter! :D
Yes they are - and your horse sounds lovely. Especially if she'd be happy to do a bit of schooling for more jumping, but the hacking part is what a lot of people would be looking for.. :)
I'm currently debating whether to buy a second horse or go for a loan while my youngster grows up. The...
Quick answer - yes they are! I'm looking for a second horse to ride and re-teach me how to jump while my yearling grows up.
References and a legal agreement wouldn't put me off at all. What does put me off is the necessity of keeping the horse at it's current yard so that requirement rules...
From my lovely dad after I'd been having riding lessons for a year...
"Why are you still paying for lessons? Surely you can sit on a horse by now..."
