There have been a couple of posts on this is the past, but I haven't found anything particularly conclusive so thought I'd ask the question(s)..
Does anyone have one? What do you think of it? Is it robust? Has it helped with core strength/proprioception/general balance etc?
I realise it's not a horse simulator, so doesn't feel like a horse's movement, but I'm just interested to know if it does help and do what it says it does. For info, I'm pretty strong, and have quite a strong core and I also own (and use
) quite a bit of basic gym equipment (e.g. balance ball/free weights). My balance is good enough to be able to hold 2 point balances on the ball so I'm not necessarily a complete sack of spuds, but having sat on the anky free rider at a show recently I was quite shocked at how hard I found it to balance on, even at the slowest setting... I suspect one of it's main benefits may be in teaching the 'rider' to let go of tightness in the hips and lower back..
