I always buy these items online, my local tack shops either have a very poor level of stock for new season pikeur, eskadron etc or hike the prices up massively!
I will also buy a lot from germany, netherlands etc as even with high postage the items can work out cheaper.
I wouldn't even be able...
I have an equipe emporio dressage and I love it! I'm 5'9 and horse is a very dainty 16hh tb. I decided to try a monoflap dressage as I love my butet cc jump saddle so much. They are so light and my horse definitely goes better in the equipe :)
I got mine second hand on eBay for £900 and have...
My gelding was insured with NFU for £5000 and I think it was approx £700 per year. He was very sadly PTS in December last year and NFU paid out straight away plue vets fees and cremation. I paid £8000 for the horse so wanted half decent insurance.
I now have a cheap ex-racer who is only...
I recently had a 2 stage vetting done on a horse that was £1500 and I was very impressed with how thorough it was.
For my previous horse who was £8000 I had a 5 stage done and he had to be put down in December due to a whole host of problems and quite frankly should never of passed a 5 stage...
I have the Pikeur Skarlett and it's lovely (shorter softshell style) :)
Mine has a gold suede collar but you can get them in plain black or navy.
I'm 5'10 so don't need a shorter style jacket but the Pikeur Diana I had before constantly hung over the saddle and got on my nerves!
Pikeur do...
Really inspiring to read, thank you so much for posting.
I decided to go barefoot with my horse in June as his feet were so poor. I feel like I have more bad days than good at the moment :(
My trimmer thinks it will take near on a year to get him back into proper work (IF his feet ever fully...
Lol!
When not riding I wear anything around the yard from flip flops to Uggs (depending on the time of year!)......luckily it's our own yard so no one sees me!
It's really easy though- just buy all your breeches and coats in dark neutral colours (brown, black, navy etc) and then use cheaper items to add colour. I have tops from ebay, primark etc so it doesn't have to be expensive, I spend more money on quality items like coats.
And I never wear nice...
Smart and co-ordinated always, although I won't wear any of my nice stuff for general yard duties.
Have dark base layers and breeches and will then add a coloured polo/jumper/scarf to match what the horse is wearing. Anything from grey to bright pink! :)
I have the LAS Eco and I think they come up big.
You can change the liner though to make bigger or smaller. I am about a 55cm so I ordered the small liner, however it's a bit big so I could probably do with an XS which is something like 53-54.
