    How tall will he be?

Well! I did it tonight! I did the string test, put it up against the measuring stick, and he comes out at just over 18hh! 😳😳 I thought what a load of rubbish, he won’t be that big! So I then did the string test on my two older fully grown horses… guess what… 😳😳😳 it was bang on!

    How tall will he be?

Jeez! I mean I’ve nothing against big horses but his mum and dad are both 16.2 & 16.3 so I wasn’t expecting a giant

    How tall will he be?

How tall will my yearling be? He’s just turned 15 months and he’s currently measuring 16.1 1/2 at the wither and 16.2 1/2 at croup. I’ve not had one this tall at this age before so just wondered what he’s likely to end up at!

Turning out after box rest - tendon injury

Hi, interested in people’s opinions of how to introduce turnout after box rest. We have a racehorse who has had a tendon injury and has been on box rest for 5 months. He’s been walking every day for the last 3 months. He can start to go out in a small paddock now, but would you bring him back...

    Shoeing on rubber floor

Thank you :-) It's not a livery yard really, it's a stud and nothing else is hot shod. I was just not sure exactly what the issue was with hot shoeing on a rubber floor, but what you've said makes sense! I'll go with the trailer mats and just roll them out every 6 weeks!

    Shoeing on rubber floor

I think it's more the fact that it would potentially mark it that's the issue. If the shoes were put down they would melt it though!

    Shoeing on rubber floor

Yes that's a good point, they do put them on the floor as well don't they? That's not such an issue though as just outside the barns is concrete. I just feel bad making him stand out there when it's chucking it down!

    Shoeing on rubber floor

I think its that the foot is hot when it hits the floor, so it marks the rubber. It's a stud so any horses on the yard that are shod are done cold. I'm thinking of getting a couple of trailer mats to put down for the horse to stand on so it doesn't mark the floor. I just wondered if anyone else...

    Shoeing on rubber floor

I have recently moved to a yard where all the barns have rubber flooring. This is great, except when I have the farrier, as he has to shoe outside so he doesn't melt the rubber. I was wondering if there was anything I could buy to put over the top of the rubber floor? I don't know if hot...

    Show jump lessons west/north Leicestershire

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a show jumping trainer around north east Leicestershire area. I’m based in Ratby. Ideally noone too expensive and must have the patience of a saint!! I want the right balance of being pushed a bit, but not too much! Grateful for any recommendations! Thank you! X
