    Horse evading contact

Well, just been advised to lunge him in side reins as he was probably just taking the mick out of me and it seems they were right! He fought with himself for about 2 seconds, realised that was pointless and came right down. I got on him after and just pushed him through it and it worked! Lots of...

    Horse evading contact

I'm not going to strap his mouth! I know that won't solve it. I'll look up the information on training my hands as this is definitely a thought of mine. My other horse is very heavy in the mouth and leans so I'd expect I need retraining too. The person who checked his back is one of the best...

    Horse evading contact

Ok, so, I've had my horse 9 months now - he's an ex hunter from Ireland. I was initially having problems with him evading (head in the air, to the side and mouth open with a choppy action below. He goes into a weird canter when you apply the leg instead of forward) I had his back checked which...

    Blind Wolf Tooth

Just a loose ring French link snaffle.

    Blind Wolf Tooth

Yep mine has had the head tilt when being ridden too. Probably the least worrying symptom he had!

    Blind Wolf Tooth

His diet and routine were the same and his feet not long done. He's a real genuine horse and hasn't tried to ditch me or anything like that so I know it's not just him playing up.

    Buying second hand saddles?

I've just bought a used Albion GP on eBay but waiting for it to arrive! There are loads and Albions are lovely saddles. If you pay with PayPal you are often covered if the seller has duped you in any way but I believe the majority are genuine. Saddles Direct is also good. Lots of used and new...

    Blind Wolf Tooth

I've had my new horse just over 10 weeks and everything started off really well (though we had problems cantering in the arena, presumed it was because he had hunted in Ireland most his life. He also seemed quite worried when being schooled) About 6 weeks into owning him I went away for a week...

    Which boots?

My lovely horse is rather clumsy. Everyday he comes in with a bash on one of his legs. Can anyone recommend some boots to turnout in that are hard wearing yet affordable?

Horse puts his head down in canter!

Yes, could be change in shape :) He did do it today on the lunge with the saddle and I do have a feeling he wouldn't do it without. I was kind of hoping people would say saddle fitting as that's easy to sort!

Horse puts his head down in canter!

Yes I am looking right now. It was just that he hadn't done this previously when using this saddle.

Horse puts his head down in canter!

I've recently bought a green 9 year old Irish Sports Horse and I'm having some teething problems. The most recent one is today in canter he put his head right down in between his knees and felt a bit 'bucky'. If he did buck, they weren't big but it was enough to scare me! Only yesterday did I...
