Do a worm count on each horse, you can buy the kit from your local feed merchant.
I bought some fairly expensive gel filled boots/wraps which you are supposed to soak in cold water for an hour before use and they are then supposed to stay cold once on the horse's legs.
I went eventing, soaked them from when we arrived and then applied them under travel boots for the journey...
What about a cotton waffle type cooler or just a summer sheet if your horse gets hot.
In the high summer some of my horses travel without rugs. So long as your partitions are in good condition and sufficiently well padded then if your horse gets hot whilst travelling then leave the rug off...
Looks like a kick to me especially as it is kind of foot shaped. Don't panic. Cold hose for 20 mins twice a day if you can. Give a sachet of bute once a day for a couple of days. Rest up. If no improvement or gets worse then get the vet.
