    Long reining - trot transitions

Ditto what was said above. Go onto a circle exactly the same as if you were lungeing and ask from there. He should then realise its no different to trotting on the lunge and relax.

Looking for breeder Susan Philips - Ballinacoola, Ireland

I am hoping I can find a way to contact the breeder of my gelding. Her details are in his passport as Susan Philips, Ballinacoola, Wicklow. I would just like to hear about him as a youngster and find out what his mum was like! He was born 27th June 2002 and came over to England around 2006...

Ah right! Yeah mine was off ebay! He's a 6'3 (tho has a 6'0 stable rug that fits nicely!) and their 6'3 seemed a good fit to me! Only been on him briefly tho so not sure if it slips/rubs etc

horsey qualifications- do they mean much to you?

Firstly, college is usually funded by the government not people's parents so I think this statement is totally incorrect. Its more likely that people with horsey experience had mummy and daddy buying them a pony when they were little. I know my coursemates were from a wide variety of...

horsey qualifications- do they mean much to you?

I have recently graduated from an Equine Studies BSc and think it was in incredibly useful thing to have done. I like to think I understand what "proper" science is after spending 2 years training to be a vet and being taught by true experts in each field of veterinary medicine. The equine...

It was my choice. Just got some quotes from several local ones and went from there. It was a different vet to the ones she used for his vaccs etc previously as well.

    Dreading this evening...

Yeah its amazing what can be missed, even by qualified physios etc! I guess we're all human. I did email some pics to the vets of his back end and told them what was going on but they have been quite dismissive about it saying his back was checked thoroughly and they didnt see any problems. They...

I think some people think I'm mad for going to these measures when hes not really done anything too bad! But I would rather catch any problems early than wait until hes trying to rodeo me off! lol

Sorry this is quite a long story! I bought my first horse (9yo ISH) about 3 weeks ago following a 5 stage vetting which he passed with flying colours. In his old home he had a history of humping (not really proper bucking) into canter, particularly on the left rein. Other than that he was a...
