one of my horse has had these a few times. My vet said this ... one nostril nothing to much to worry about as a one off or rare occurance. Two nostrils would be something more to be concerned about and he would scope. forutnatly mines only ever been one and quite rare and no pattern to it. sure...

Never stops amazing me how well they travel. took a horse from ireland once round to france for a competition by ferry as couldn't get flights and it was about 20 hours travelling all told and she was as good as gold. Looks nice boy too!

This year more than ever the hay has been bad, my yard practically turns its nose up at what i've had to give them this year, changed to haylage and they scoffed the bloody lt againl then just last week picked up haylage and it was bone dry and back to them not eating it. turned out up unitl now...
ditto practice is the only option, if you force the issue you may make more and it'll take longer. Maybe get some natural horsemanship help if all else fails, so you dint' get it home yet? that's a bumma
thanks everyone and no i won't be taking a stallion, a 5 year old but a good nice steady one. Will consider the clinic option first now. I do know what you mean not every trainer will work for everyone and the reason i asked as it's nice to have a bit of background.
Been reading about her in here (half way down page) and quite a few other places recently wondered if anyone had had lessons. Sounds very good and want t recommend to one of my owners.
