Please help find Laddie! Welsh Arab x

Passported name was Laddie. Nothing fancy! I genuinely don't know if he will be alive anymore as I really struggle to remember his age when I had him (it so wasn't important to me when I was 11!) but I regret everyday parting with him and just wanted to find out what happened to him :(

Please help find Laddie! Welsh Arab x

Is there anyone who has a way to track horses using their passport name? I've seen a couple of posts recently where people have been able to find information on horses using their passported name and height etc - I am almost positive he will no longer be with us, but just being able to find...

    Emigration destinations

Portugal! Lived here for 4 years and would never enjoy my horses as much if I were back in the UK now. Mild winter (although a wetter than average one this year! Atleast the rainsheets get some use :D and we'll have a bumper hay crop this year!) Hot dry summer, but not unbearable and horses cope...

Bringing horses home for the first time!! Advice please

Do you know what... after keeping and riding horses here, I don't think I could ever go back to the UK and enjoy them even half as much! I even question how I managed it all those years ago :D :D fab hooves, fab coats, no mud... lots of flies though!

Bringing horses home for the first time!! Advice please

Dad is my handyman! Recently retired so i've got to keep him busy ;) With regards to hay, farrier, vet etc.. I am not moving the horses too far from where they are currently stabled and where I work, so all of the above will remain the same (but obviously giving me the freedom to change should I...

Bringing horses home for the first time!! Advice please

Hi Auslander, I had thought this through but I already know both horses well and they don't suffer separation anxiety. They are more than happy left alone providing they have hay to bury their heads in! Likewise I am able to ride and lead (I do this regularly with them at work) so it will be...

Dilema over companion - need some advice

I agree that you need to establish whether this horse is the ideal companion for your horse, everything else aside. If he is not happy alone when you leave for clinics, or requires a completely different diet than your own, then the horse for me would be no... Sometimes things just don't work...

New rescue dog!! Guess the breed!?

Oh wow, i'd never heard of the Maneto! And as she came from the streets, I just assumed she would have been the product of a chance meeting between other strays! But yes those images look JUST like her, and in a few days I am sure her personality with shine through and I will notice some breed...

New rescue dog!! Guess the breed!?

Hey! So I picked up my new baby last night, a small 3 yr old female who was abandoned here in portugal (like so many others!) It's clear that she was severely maltreated by humans at some point as she is petrified of people but luckily she seems to have taken to me very quickly and lets me...

18 inch dressage girth??? impossible find!?

Hi guys!! Hot day here in Portugal.. car said 50 degrees as I drove home from the yard earlier. Almost died. A freezing cold shower and sit down later and i'm only doing some horsey shopping! I seem to be looking for the impossible though? That OR the heat has fried my brain and i'm just...

Done to death I know but rider weight?

He's about 13.3hh and very slight with it. Interesting you mentioned the saddle as I am actually on the hunt for a new one. The saddle in the photo came with him and is an extremely old lightweight wintec saddle which I think was actually used to break him in. Not entirely sure on it's seat size...

Done to death I know but rider weight?

well i've just sat and read through all of these replies, and now i am intrigued! I have always known I am slightly long legged for my pony (despite being only 5ft 2!) but now i'm interested to hear your opinions?? His max carrying weight is 60kgs (agreed by osteopath, vet and stables where...

    Cross country boots

Nothing overly fancy, but I always ride mine in his caldene brushing boots and fetlock boots, and for XC I use the brushing boots on both fronts and hinds! (All very low level stuff may I add)
