I have an ex race who can't do the RoR series as he did his tendon before making it to the track so therefore isn't 'taxed' and can' compete :( very frustrating as most of the classes are for horses who have 'raced'. We have to do TARRA and other unaffiliated classes which there aren't many about!
Non horsey, after growing up wanting to work with horses, doing my ND in horse management and spending 3 years in racing I now work in accounts!! I have a normal 9-5 job with bank holidays and weekends off and can enjoy my horse! It's something you have to do though, it gives you great life...
I have a helmet camera, just a cheapy called ActionCam. Use it on the xc course, its good enough footage, just have to get the angle right as it sits on the side of your hat.
I've seen a tail guard with a camera inserted inside it and it says 'smile you're on camera'. Will catch motorists coming...
Done :)
I thought the questions were simple and relevant, simply comparing how you feel about riding each type.
I am slightly biased as I own a TB and have ridden them for years!
Good luck x
That's shocking!
Luckily we have a lady at the yard that practises McTimoney, Angela Moore, she's brilliant! She first did my horse last summer when he went wrong, after a session and a new saddle he was back to normal, if not better.
I then had him looked at just before Christmas so he went...
I've worked in racing. They have their own rates of pay, as stated on the link above from 'be positive'. You also get over night and daily allowances for when you go racing and standard overtime too. You get a quarterly share of pool money from all the winnings the yard has had, this is usually...
I bought the Shires Optimus Puissance last summer for my TB. He's not a skinny thoroughbred and we have the medium gullet in. I have a medium narrow for if he changes though.
I love it, so comfy, he likes it, and its nice and forward cut for jumping but not too much for GP. Mine was £450 from...
Looking forward to going skiing with friends at the weekend!!
But also just affiliated my boy in sj so looking forward to getting some consistent clears at BN level and just enjoying it really!
Showjumping I prefer affiliated.
I've jumped unaffiliated for years and have just affiliated and it's such a difference. No offence to children but you go to unaffiliated comps and they charge around in the warm up, cutting in front of you and push in when it comes to order of jumping! Also...
Hi everyone,
I don't post all that often so hi I'm Lauren :).
So in June this year I am going to be riding in the Macmillan Charity race at York racecourse!! How exciting!!
I did my time working in racing and so to have this opportunity to ride in a race on a real racehorse is amazing to me...
I work in accounts for a farm/butchers that have shops in London. Want to do more accounts courses and progress but time and finances are putting this on hold!!
Would love to be a racing secretary or bookkeeper so I can combine the 2!
