    Boxer - Breeding/Progeny

Wow! Thank you for the time you have all taken to search for me. I know my friend will really appreciate it. They are coming over tonight for dinner so I have printed this topic out for her to follow up. It does sound like the Hocombewood route would be best. I'll have a look into it and be...

    Boxer - Breeding/Progeny

Hi all! A good friend lost her best friend recently to old age. When she feels ready to get another puppy she has mentioned that she would like a Boxer with some of the same lines as her old boy (if possible). Is there a database of Boxers where I might be able to get some info for her? We...

Weight loss - RAW food query!

Good suggestion CT.. however, I rather prefer Nutriments meat, quality looks much nicer and the smell also seems more appealing! I just wonder what the fat content is. I could always ring both companies I suppose! He's never had the luxury of tripe, Janah. As he is allergic to beef and lamb...

Weight loss - RAW food query!

Hi all! P has been fed raw since 6 months-ish, (he's coming up to 6yrs this September) I've recently switched from Natural Instinct to Nutriment and we've noticed he's dropped weight quite quickly. Has anyone got an idea if Nutriment is lower in fat than Natural instinct? The meat does...

    Regurgitation - Raw feeders

It does sound a bit like a learnt behaviour, from before you got the anti-gulp bowl. Maybe change up the routine, feed somewhere different or at a slightly different time? You could get a big kong and stuff food in, I sometime freeze to slow down even more! They can definitly make themselves...

Oh my HOG! - Hedgehog food, RAW?

Aww how cute is she!! I'm sorry to hear that you lost her last year :( How old was she? Meet Herman or Ham as I like to call him! I will go and have a look at the various cat feeds. We found some 'hedgehog food' in the garden centre (basically expensive cat food I think!) which he has...

Oh my HOG! - Hedgehog food, RAW?

So, we have somehow acquired a African Pygmy Hedgehog! His owner is very ill and can no longer look after him :-( so he has come to live with us along with his vivarium and all other housing/blankets etc. Now my real question is.. what should we be feeding him? He came with cat kibble and i...

    Pancreatitis :-(

Would like to thank you for your fabulous and prompt replies. Sadly the decision was made for him to be pts after showing no improvement :-( we are so devastated as its such a sudden thing and he appeared normal this time last week. Their other JRT does seem a little lost but at the time we...

    Pancreatitis :-(

Morning fellow HHO's, What a day I had yesterday. OH's parents own to elderly (but active) JR's and one went downhill on Wednesday with suspected Pancreatitis. Vets confirmed yesterday with bloods that indeed it was and the decision of the family was to pts! (One of the factors being cost as...

    Metal Pins & the cold

All really interesting! I NEED to go doggy shopping now.. think my OH will kill me :D Shame I can't get him thermal leggings I.M.N. I think they would do the trick, it must be so strange to be able to feel the difference of temperature. I've heard a bit about the Flectalon coats recently, but...

    Metal Pins & the cold

Fellow owners that have dogs with pins! Do you notice a big difference in the winter? My boy will be 6 at the end of the year and had surgery for lux patella nearly 5 years ago. He has a number of pins -especially for a small chi x terrier mix- and always looks a little lame in winter (not...

    Help with skin allergies

Mine started to get really itchy around 1 year old. Mainly his eyes (really runny) and his ears, the vets thought he had sarcoptic mange! He actually enjoyed having the skin scraping taken! Once this was ruled out they wanted to put him on steroids but I wasn't keen. He weighs in at around 6/7kg...

    Supermarket wormers/flea treatments

Another thought slightly off-topic. You can get a prescription from your vets (I think mine charge about £6/7?) and get it online from somewhere like vedmedic. I get 6 months for £26 + £7 for prescription. From the vets 6 months works out nearly 50 quid for me!
