    High paying flexible jobs

This is where I work, I quite like the idea of bar work for grads otherwise they become very consumed in their exams and are likely already not the most fun going by their chosen careers!

    Tell me about Connemaras 🙏

I have a 15hh 15 year old Connie. I’m a para rider and he’s perfect for me. Definitely more whoa than go but can step up a gear. Super safe hacking, good jump and I do it all on him. Can be bolshy but nothing too bad. He came with a list of things he didn’t do but given time, he does them all...

    Weather forecast

Mine went out at 9am and I can't get them in until 4pm. Feeling a bit mean but they are hardy natives and won't shrink 🙈

    Ataxia help ASAP pls

I’m so sorry, ataxia is scary. My 17 year old warmblood came in from the field all wobbly, vet put him on all sorts of drugs but sadly had to let him go 10 days later as nothing was improving. I got a PM as I needed closure, it came back as encephalitis from “ unknown causes” No one knows what...

    Whittonstall / Heddon Laws

Stay away from the first, owners are bullies and have their clique. High turnover and people rarely stay long. A lot of hidden costs. Amazing hacking and if run by different people could be amazing. Heard nothing bad about Heddon Laws and know a few people there that love it.

    Feed Advice

I feed my 13 year old Connie 3/4 scoop Alfa or any cheap chaff and 2 cups of balancer. Currently spillers daily balancer as it’s the cheapest but they are pretty much all the same. He’s in full work, ridden 4/5 times a week and does 20-30K endurance rides regularly. Very laid back, on ad-lib hay...

    Farrier wanted

I use Russell Ross who is great, you can find him on the registered farrier list. My vet strongly recommends the Heslop brothers; Will & Tom. Have a look on https://www.farrier-reg.gov.uk/find-a-farrier

Livery yards being closed, banned from seeing our horses

Yes, enforced full livery at a ridiculous cost. We are now not allowed up at all until the horses are out for Sumer which she refuses to do because she "knows best" (AKA profiteering) I can cope with not riding but not seeing him is ridiculous. I'm not 100% trustworthy of the owners as they have...

Backward/lazy warmblood.. at my wits end

I am in exactly the same position. I have a Belgium Warmblood which I love the bones of. He is 15 and i have owned him for 2 years. I bought him as a super safe (he is) allrounder. he has competed to decent level in most things (elementary BD & Discovery SJ),he was sold with him having a...

    Recall issues

He definitely wants her as a gun dog. He shoots every weekend and often a couple of days in the week when he can escape work. Whistle training for is getting there but not great. I'm confident we'll get there & understand that training a working & non working dog is different. Going to discuss...

    Recall issues

I have a 6 months old cocker spaniel who we have had from 7/8 weeks. She's great and bred as a working dog which is what we wanted. Partner shoots a lot & wants a gun dog. Our springer is terrified of guns so he sees her as useless, she's mine really, So,she's the most loving & affectionate...
