    Anyone used Comfy Bed?

I am interested to hear that you find easibed to be cheaper than comfy bed. I have always been under the impression that per kg comfy bed is the cheaper of the two as they 25kg bales. I use and love ComfyBed as I find the extra weight of the bedding makes it so much easier to muck out as it...

Crazy Things Your 'Old School' Instructor Used To Make You Do?

Like most of you most of my Pony Club lessons by default were without stirrups or in a forward seat which you had to hold for so long you would sneakily sit down on your pony behind the instructors back! I also had to sing the my little pony theme tune whilst jumping a grid in front of all of...

Gah! He doesn't want curry for breakfast and supper...barefoot Q

I have never had to feed my girls turmeric but one of them is very fussy if I try and add anything nasty to her feed. I have found that by mixing her feed up with apple juice as opposed to water makes the nasty bits a little more tasty and she is more than happy to eat them. As it would be a...

    Best hi viz exercise sheet

I strongly recommend not buying an Equisafety hi viz sheet, I have personally bought several items from them now including a lovely pink hi viz exercise sheet only for all items to start to fall apart within a couple of months whilst my Shires and Masta exercise sheets have lasted me years!

Eco comfybed or Lay soft users

Another vote for Eco ComfyBed here! I have always found it to be good quality and much better value than Easibed. I especially like it for my box walkers as because its that little bit heavier than shavings they can't turn their beds to mush by the end of the night so I don't get through so much...

Rideaway - REALLY bad service - Anyone else?

I ordered over the phone on 28th November and my delivery came within a week which is pretty acceptable, I've ordered from them for years and never had a problem. But yes they have been taken over by Pets at Home (which I am also a loyalty card member of) meaning I have recently been getting...

HELP!! Should I take this horse on?

I was in a similar position to you when I went to Uni except I owned two horses and ended up working 25 hours a week at the weekend and during the week between lectures to make ends meet! I had no financial support from my family and ended up having no social life and struggling to keep up with...

    Starting/furthering babies handling. Advice!

At about the age your colt is I got my little girl used to wearing a dually head collar and did a bit of join up ground work with her just to teach her something new. She was really clever and really happy to learn new things which is why I started her at this age but I think it definitely...

Warning please read atypical myopathy - sycamore *warning*

I am so sorry to hear about your horse I really do hope he pulls through. My homebred youngster died within a matter of hours from this at the weekend and like you I hadn't heard that Atypical Myopathy had now been linked to sycamore seeds. Watching her being taken away from me by the illness...

Other people's horses smell funny. Discuss.

I definitely agree that they all smell different! I also think other people's yards smell different from mine too!

who doesnt get on with the wood pellet bedding?

I don't like them either; firstly I don't like concept of adding water/leaving wee permanently in the bed. I want a nice dry, clean bed and although its cheap I don't need the hassle of soaking the pellets. My friend even found that her bed froze over in winter giving her horse a rock hard bed...

    Two Dead Ponies From AM.

Yes mine was out 24/7, from what I have read afterwards theoretically having them stabled some of the time does reduce the risk. I would also say wearing a grazing muzzle could reduce the chances.

    Two Dead Ponies From AM.

Thank you, it is truly devastating. She had a really big field but what with all the wind we've been having the seeds ended up everywhere and the vet was pretty sure that's what it was. I was so spooked I upped sticks with the others immediately and left my private stables for a local yard with...

    Two Dead Ponies From AM.

I am in the Dorset area and my homebred three year old passed away from AM at the weekend. It seems to be rife in this area at the moment as my vets have already dealt with half a dozen cases. IMHO I do genuinely think that it is the luck of the draw as to which ones get it although younger...
