    Coolstand Copra

What are people's views on feeding this feed? I used to for the first time last winter with good results but it is quite expensive and wanted to know if other things did just as good. I did feed speedibeet last year as well as this.

    Outshine or Alfa Oil?

What are people's opinions? To feed outshine and a chaff? To feed outshine and alfa oil? To feed alfa oil? Obviously there is a massive difference in the cost so don't want to buy Outshine and feed over winter if Alfa oil will do the same thing and keep the weight on?

    Balancer or Supplement

Balancers are expensive but are they more cost effective than nuts and a vitamin supplement?

    What Feed?

I just wanted to get some opinions and ideas of what to feed my horses this year who are all chalk and cheese to each other. I am waiting on some feed suggestions from the feed manufacturers but obviously they only recommend their own products and many of us use a mixture of brands. Horse 1...

To back or not to back

I have a 3 year old warmblood mare who I am wondering whether to have backed this year and turn away or next year as a 4 year old. I am pregnant at the moment so I will be sending her away to be backed. She has already been bitted and lightly lunged and, as I bred her myself, I will be doing...

    Bit help for young horse

My young horse is currently ridden in a loose ring snaffle but I am wondering whether I need to change his bit. He works hard but is quite sharp and forward going. He works on the bit nicely but he is always wanting to canter rather than trot and when asked to trot he then throws his head in...

    Showing Passport Question

I have a German Warmblood colt whom I want to show this year as a 2 year old at County shows. I had my warmblood passport overstamped by the Sports Horse Breeding of GB society so that I can enter the Hunter Inhand classes but I read last year when I was looking at classes that some of the...

PTS - Am I doing the right thing

Thank you to everyone who responded and for the kind words at a difficult time. I just wanted to say that I had my mare PTS on Friday and whilst it was the most hardest thing in the world it was the most beautiful and dignified way she could have ever gone. Thursday the weather was...

PTS - Am I doing the right thing

Thank you for your kind responses. When she was on box rest from the surgery to screw together the bone in her sesamoid joint she managed to chip off a piece of bone and it is "floating" in her ankle. The main reason I decided to retire her to have a couple of foals. The ankle joint this...

PTS - Am I doing the right thing

My mare broke her sesamoid bone a few years ago and retired from ridden work and had two foals. In the summer with the hard ground and wet weather she went lame on her leg and dragged the leg across the ground slightly at times and held it more forward than the others. She's always been very...

    What Price?

What price would you sell a Pink Papered and branded Hannovarian gelding who is black, 3 year old and unbroken. Only thing is he has a skin situation at the moment where he needs to see a dermatologist and I just haven't got the time to sort things out. Basically it flares up during the summer...
