Yes this is true, I’d love to go to Norway! many thanks for the link! hopefully once restrictions have lifted I’ll be able to go to the centre there :)
Hi, in answer to your query, yes it would be my first and no I don't have much experience of the breeds, although I'm pretty sure I rode a few haffies when I was a child which was a while back! lol
Many thanks for all your advice and replies! This is very helpful so thank you :) To be honest I don't know much about either breed but one of my riding instructors suggested a haffie for me, and I came across a very sweet Fjord a few weeks back which I wanted to buy but got beaten to the post...
Hi all!
I've recently been looking for a new pony and absolutely love Fjords and Haflingers, does anyone know where I might be able to find either? I've had a look around online but have hardly come across any, the only ones I've found are foals, I'm looking for one which has some life...
Yes he is in for the rest of the day. It’s something I wouldn’t be able to change unless I changed yards. He is on hay and usually gets a handful of pony nuts per day. What type of routine do you think would suit him better? Am open to suggestions.
Hi Ambers Echo thanks for your message. Yes he did pass a 5 stage vetting. I’m going to see whether the saddle is causing an issue and then decide. I’m based in Kent. If I did decide to sell I’m thinking maybe of taking him to NT Equine for sales livery as I know they tend to buy and sell...
Thank you all this has been very helpful for me! I’m currently leaning towards the selling side but I’m going to get the saddle sorted first before making a final decision. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks again.
Thanks very much everyone for your replies! This is all very helpful. He’s a lovely horse generally and I would be sad to see him go, but at the end of the day it feels like we’re not the right match, I’d like to do what’s right for him and for me. My partner and my mum think it’s...
Thank you for your response. I thought after the first time it happened that it was ‘simply’ a lack of exercise as he hadn’t been ridden in a few days and did seem fresh when I saw him, so I invested in schooling until I recovered when the plan would be that I have lessons until I get used...
So a) he gets exercised 3-4 times a week
b) I believe he has the correct food
c) he gets turned out in the mornings but it’s different to what he was used to in Ireland where he lived out all the time
d) he’s in good health has been checked by the vet. The tack is something which I’m...
Hi Michel thanks for your reply, yes took off in the school exactly that. Yes I mean he’s definitely got lots of potential and he is kind natured generally, I’ve invested quite a bit in schooling him already which is why I thought maybe loaning him out would be more cost effective but I...
Hello thanks for your response! Well it seemed like he got scared, the first time I couldn’t say by what as it all happened so quickly but the next time it was definitely a bird flying out of a tree, he was completely calm before then
