    Steroids injection or Cartrophen injection?

My vet said if I go for the Cartrophen, then he would have that until it no longer had an affect, and then we could move onto the steroids, so by the looks of it, you don't have to do them together. Just remember, they don't do the same thing... the Cartrophen is compared to joint supplements...

    Steroids injection or Cartrophen injection?

I posted a few weeks or so ago about my horse being diagnosed with arthritis in both hocks. I've spoken to vet about either going for Steroids or Cartrophen injections. Steroids - These worry me a little. He had a small bout of Laminitis last year, and so far, no signs this year. I try to keep...

Steroid Injections in Hocks - Advise/experience?

Thanks for the info. So when the hock joint fuses, how does that affect him? I've yet to see the x-rays, but vet said both hocks on the outside are affected. I think its been caused by confirmation (quite straight hocked), as I'm had him since he was backed, and I rarely done anything fast or...

Steroid Injections in Hocks - Advise/experience?

Hi all. A few weeks ago my horse was diagnosed with arthritic changes in both hocks. The vets wanted him to lose a few kilos before they done any injections (he had slight lami last year) Its been 3 weeks and he had lost approx. 12kg and is looking OK (not as plump as he has been). I'm going...

    Experiences of LWVTB?

This! I took on a LWVTB, and we agreed a price at first. I went through a lot with said horse (countless foot abscesses etc.) I had to buy all take etc. too. then at the end, the owner wanted £1000 more than we agreed. Needless to say I sadly gave the horse back.

Just a faze... or give up completely?

I didn't think of that. I've only advertised him on local FB pages, so maybe the WES page might be better. Thanks

Just a faze... or give up completely?

I have thought about ulcers, maybe I'll contact the vets and ask what they think. Thanks

Just a faze... or give up completely?

It's been a while since I've been here. I have a horse, he's rising 10. I bought him about 4/5 years ago to do showing & dressage. 2 years ago, after a few schooling struggles, we gave western training a go, and haven't looked back. We both enjoy it. He's not perfect, and can have his moments...

Horses! I should be happy, but am a bit worried

You know when you haven't ever tried something, but still say you don't like it... and then one day you try it and LOVE it, I think this is exactly what is happening. For what ever reason, he's not liked being groomed (maybe a bad experience/association with it) but because you started with the...

    Showing - First time, tips/advice please :)

Me and my boy have our first showing show this weekend. Only a local one, but if we get good feedback, I hope to progress with it. We are doing inhand and ridden coloureds/spots and my friend is taking him inhand in the most appealing gelding. When inhand, which side should I be leading...

    Bit ideas… Hanging Cheek Snaffle?

Thanks, I will try to make my aids more clear, so he can't question what I have asked. I just worry when I am riding him his head is stuck out in front, but then like you say, it will all happen once the engine is moving! Its such a challenge bringing on a youngster, but I am glad I am doing...
