NO rearers. Had a big accident with one last year and now have a scar on my face. And wouldn't touch anything with sweet itch unless i knew the horse for at least a year before buying and nothing with sarcoids. Other than that i'll over look a lot of things that would put others off.
I use Dodson & Horrall 'just grass' for my barefoot boy which he loves. Its a chopped dried grass so chaff like. Your boy may like something like this if he likes to have something to chew on.
Im in East Sussex. I currently pay £80 per month for DIY. Its only a 6 horse yard with no school but good hacking and all year turn out and option to have them out 24/7 as soon as the field dries out in the late spring.
I feel differently than the other posters. Follow your dream but be realistic about how unlikely it will be for you to get there. My sister has just finished her masters degree and guess what she is doing for a job now .... a part time teaching assistant! 4 years of study for nothing as she...
Oooh good luck and have fun :-) Thankfully my husband has an old style licence so carts me around in my trailer. I'm in my late 30's and haven't had my own transport before and love it. We do look a bit like pikies though as he uses his transit van to tow it!
Mine is hacking 3 times a week and that's it. I wont jump him properly until he's 5 and wouldn't affiliate until 6. He's done a little bit of pole work in the school but I'm not looking to ask him too much yet. I may hunt him next season depending on how developed i think he feels. I plan to...
Go buy him! I had a 14.2 up to a few weeks ago. I'm 5' 8" and 11 1/2 stone and i didn't look big and the weight wasn't an issue for him. In comparison you will be very light on this pony and he sounds great fun :-)
Use it as a dash cam in your car. Trust me i work in car insurance dealing with claims and cant believe everyone doesn't have one! You'd be surprised how many people get faulted for a accidents which probably are not their fault but we just cant prove it.
At the moment he's on dodson & horrell 'just grass' with micronised linseed and what's left in the bag of rolled barley and unmollased sugar beet. I'll not replace the sugar beet or barley once its used up. Mine cant have alfalfa so i have to steer clear of anything with that in. I feel its a...
If you plan to sell the horse i would think long and hard about jumping a 4 year old at that level. Id never buy anything i knew had been affiliated that young as id be worried about the long term soundness of the horse.
