Hi! I've just moved to South East London from Wales and have a Sec D X that I need to find livery for! I'm flexible on the type of livery dependant on price but it needs to have a lot of good off road hacking, wherever it is. I'm quite flexible on the location but would prefer nothing too far...
Iv tried with a few nanny horses, he doesn't seem to care tho, even when the nanny horse is standing on the other side of the water neighing at him, as though going "come on you can do it!" Lol!
If I put too much leg on he does rear so iv got to give just enough without egging him on too much...
I have just got myself a new horse and jumping wise he's great and I'd like to do XC with him but he's terrified of water!
Iv tried several times to lead him through/ride him through and he'll go in and then reverse out terrified or just avoid the water all together.
I don't want to stress...
Thank you guys! Some great tips there! Will be lunging them after work as they were taken on a long hack yesterday and don't want them to get too bored :)
Hi, my horses have had an easy life this winter and rarely been ridden. I'm now bringing them back into work and wanted to now the best way to get them back to a good level of fitness, so I can take them hunting this Autumn.
I have limited facilities so most of my fitness training will need...
At the moment we are only schooling when back from a hack as if I do it before a hack he goes a bit crazy. After a hack he's a little more chilled. I'll keep at it and keep the sessions short and sweet and hopefully he'll stop resenting the school as much :)
Hi there, iv recently taken on a new pony, a 14.2hh welsh cob x who is very energetic and quite bolshy to handle. He has literally been left in a field the last 9 months and I have taken him onboard with a view of bringing him on and back into work again, hopefully in time to do some very low...
I completely agree!
After 5 years out of the saddle, I got myself a lovely 19 year old TB, superb schoolmaster, absolute gem of a horse! He's filled me with confidence and a year later iv now got myself a smaller but more forward going pony, who can be bolshy and strong but as I now have...
Thanks guys, he does get a bit over excited when going into canter so will try just gently asking for a canter and keep it all low key and as calm as possible and see if there's any improvement :)
Hi there, I have a new pony and his previous owner was very honest when I got him and said he sometimes throws a buck when going into canter.
Sure enough when going into canter he does throw a buck, not enough to unseat me but still rather annoying!
He's had all the usual checks, back...
I spoke to simple systems and because of his cushings they recommended not giving him grass pellets (cushings horses are prone to laminitis) but they have given me some feeds he can have which will hopefully get him to put on weight :)
He does have problems with his feet, but when that first...
