Well done at your first Novice :-) I was the XC collecting ring steward so I can testify that the weather was horrid. And despite being there all day I only saw the first and the last jump! Best of luck in your next comps.
Glad he's settled to his new routine. It all looks too much for him! ;)
All mine live out in the summer and thrive on it :) We turned a 6 month old calf out with one this morning who has taken delight in chasing him round the field! I left them with the calf standing with his head in the hedge...
Well done. I know too well how difficult it is to get over mental barriers we have. It's taken me a while to learn to trust my mare again after she kept bucking me off due to kissing spines but now I can't wait to get going! I'm looking forward to hearing how you progress.
I'm paying £20 a day so £140 a week for my mare to be rebacked following kissing spine surgery. They've done an excellent job taking it at the speed she needed and I can't be more pleased :)
My parents are going to buy me some chickens when it's warmer which I'm so excited about :) I also got some tools for my veg plot so I don't have to beg and borrow any more and an apron as I'm a very messy cook!
Mine have been ridden once in the last month in between the snowy snaps but they are out 24/7 so they are keeping active. My other mare is away at a schooling yard and is costing me a fortune without being ridden as their arena is frozen and the lanes are too icy to get the lorry out to take...
I ordered a pair of the Derby House breeches to try and keep me dry at competitions. They felt nice and soft but they were too small so I had to send them back. Sorry I'm not much use answering your question.
Saturday - going to watch my mare who's had kissing spine op being ridden. They got on her for first time yesterday and she was fine which is a huge relief. I just hope it continues.
Sunday - scoring for our local hunt's Hunter Trials so I'm hoping it warms up a bit!
Monday - running our local...
I was doing the XC scoring today so know how the course rode. The water caused quite a few problems as it's very murky but faults were spread around the course apart from that although the 1st fence caught a few out. Walk the course well as we had quite a few eliminations for missed fences!
I love my RC too. I've met loads of new people and take advantage of dressage and SJ competitions they run every month. I haven't had chance to go to camp yet as my horse isn't up to it but hopefully I will have one to take next year. I was very lucky and qualified 2 horses for the eventing...
Good luck. Hope you have a good day. I'm scoring there tomorrow and either fence judging or scoring again on Sunday and OH is doctoring both days so it's a busy weekend helping for us!
In between that I need to fit in exercising my horse!
