Elevated antibodies just mean she has come into contact with it, not that she has actually got it or is a carrier. Some horses can come into contact with the bacteria and fight it, never getting symptoms. When we tested the whole yard after we had it a few years ago (about 30 horses) there...
I bought a lifeproof case after smashing my screen 3 times in as many months.
I've dropped it several times since then and it's still intact. Haven't tested how waterproof it is though. Only downside (other than my iphone no longer looking like an iphone!) is it makes photos rubbish. If i...
I work in a job that may take us onto premises or yards with dogs. I've had 'dangerous dog' training and they advised us to always ask for any dog to be shut away before entering. I love dogs and I think I am aware enough to decide whether a dog is friendly or not, but I would definitely ask...
I frequently pop into Asda or the co-op in my horsey gear, I dont see it any different to folk wandering round in their gym gear (which I also do!). Can't say anyone has given me funny looks, but I do always feel guilty handing the cash over and hope they dont notice my fingernails! The worst...
Shires Norfolk do a XS calf. I have the skinniest calves known to man and they fit. Can't remember the actual measurements, but worth a look.
Failing that, Brogini have a range of calf sizes, but I'm not sure if they will be in budget.
Mine was MRI'd for mild bi-lateral lameness on front last year after x-rays showed mild arthritic changes and joint injections didn't work quite as well as we had hoped.
MRI showed mild athritic changes in the coffin joint, mild navicular and tiny tendon tear on his worse foot (even tiny by...
My horse has a lump under his jaw, I noticed it about 2 weeks after buying him (a little panic inducing since we were in the midst of strangles outbreak in the area), I got the vet to check it out when doing his vacc's and apparently it's quite common for horses to get growths on their thyroid...
Gillies. They were great with my lad who is difficult to load.
I wasn't so keen on them not getting hay, but actually after 6 hours on the lorry all my horse wanted to do when I chucked him in the field with his new mates was eat. It was very uneventful since he was far too hungry to care...
After some intense treatment this summer my gelding has decided vets are trying to kill us all. He used to be no problem at all, now we have full on rearing and backing up at speed. Twitching sends him catatonic and sedalin only worked once. He won't touch the stuff now. I can't get anything...
My Fal (thought I adore it, brilliant rug) rubs the front of my boys shoulders. A bib sorts out problem, but if it rubs my wee part Arab I would be surprised if it doesn't rub your lad.
I skip out the poo daily and do a full muck out every 7-10 days adding a bale. My boy is very clean, so it works for us. I don't bother with banks but I do have 'system' where I put the old bedding down where he poos and pees and the new stuff goes round the edges.
I have a Ruggles 100g, it's generous round the neck (but my boy is a teeny weeny thing compared to yours!). It is very adjustable at the chest fastenings though, both clips and buckles, so it might suit.
My arab x appy currently has a chaser clip and is out in a rainsheet ( and coming in toasty!). He will be upgraded to a 100g when it drops to 3-5 degrees.
It's still 14 degrees in Aberdeen, bloody tropical!!
