my horse eats his hard food has a drink and then coughs but sometimes when he coughs the water comes out of his nose too and he looks very distressed. He also does it sometimes after eating hay and then drinking. Any suggestions re cause/problem?

Hi - a good diet is always a good balanced start and you could try biotin, although it is for hoofs I have found it good with soft soles too. Iodine applied may help and it will also help prevent infections occurring.

hi, my pony is coughing alot, when riding she puts her head down really low - to cough, she hasnt got a snotty nose or anything like a cold and seems alright in herself until she coughs. What could be causing this? any suggestions.

o thank you, this is a soft palpable lumb and doesnt cause horse any pain when squeezed etc. like a hive lump but instead there of being a few theres only 1 lump.
