hi,

my pony is coughing alot, when riding she puts her head down really low - to cough, she hasnt got a snotty nose or anything like a cold and seems alright in herself until she coughs. What could be causing this? any suggestions.

Hi there....my pony does this too and I have tried everything....however will now try Dermoline. I am at a loss...she hasnt coughed for a couple of days and thought we had managed to get rid of it,however my daughter has just text me to say that she has stopped riding her, as her cough is really bad. I have had the vet,is on dust free bedding, tried ventipulmin....naf respirator, haylage, soaked and steamed hay..and the list goes on.

Anyone else have any other ideas, watching this thread with interest. maybe its something I can never cure.

My friends horse does this as I noticed earlier this week.

However this horse has a snotty nose and doesn't seem to cough that often... the snotty nose is worse in the morning and tends to be everywhere, her nose, her face, her door, her floor and the yard floor...

Any suggestions?

(ps shes only been at this yard for maybe a week or two now - in at night, out through the day)
