    Which is most effective calmer anyone has used?

    I found each calmer works differently on each horse depending on what the issue is, I had a Tb that 'blew' just suddenly reacted and dumped me, so needed to keep him level headed at all times. Nupafeed did nothing, Steady up likewise, but Global herbs supercalm and spillers coolmix kept us both...

    saddle soap and milk????!

    Yep we still do it for side saddle turnout - I always thought it was the milk protein that gave the leather a real shine, and my neighbour frequently uses bar or tub ends to make it....

    How do you keep sheepkin numnahs soft - mines gone crunchy?

    I think i'll try the hair conditioner before next washing - I like the idea of leather food, but can't get to the back of them as they are all nicely package in quilting - I also have a pending cat bed one....I'll let you know what happens....

    How do you keep sheepkin numnahs soft - mines gone crunchy?

    As previously mentioned I have a small chestnut TB that has paper thin skin....and needs to be wrapped in sheepskin, girth sleeves, half pads, full numnahs, half numnahs you name it we have it. And it works. I get bitten less girthing up, he survives a days hunting with no rub marks or sores...

    Stable Mirrors

    Bought one full price from Jacksons years ago for youngster that kicked back out of stable each night - didn't stop him, but getting a companion did....Mirror still up and current vain TB uses it to check he looks ok before meeting his public....didn't work for mine - but people sware by them...

    Broken horse - need to invest in a girth sleeve...

    As the owner of a chestnut TB with paper thin skin, real wool I find is best - the nuumed are great because they wash well and dry quickly beaused the wool is knitted onto a fabric back, but the lambskin, sheepskin ones give better protection from rubs as the actual skin behind the woll gives...
