I don't know about treatment but I have a pair of musto snug polartec jodphurs and they are a godsend. Worth every penny as keep my legs so much warmer

I have had 2 pairs of Grassmeres and have never had this problem. They are however about 4-5yrs old now so i may be they have changed the design as i do have this problem with my windermeres. It is sooo annoying to have to use the boot pull every time you want to put your boots on :(
