    Silvermore swingers

One of mine got it against a wall and devoured it in half an hour... the other one (who is the greedy one) got 2 days/nights while on box rest out of it. If you can hang so it can't be pushed against anything think it would last a good while!

Help me with terminology! Term for accepting standard practice as good or normal??

I think the example I saw was a smoker knows smoking can cause serious health issues but continue to smoke regardless.. although I'm not convinced that's the best example either.. (but 2 glasses of prosecco on a Sunday eve.. what do I know?! ? )

Cognitive dissonance? Although that's definitely when something is wrong/bad but they do it anyway...

    Halloween Weekend Plans!

Well the weather improved, we managed to stay dry for both tests - got a 3rd in the Novice and came away with 5th in our first Elementary. She also was a total star with all the fancy dress and we got a little goody bag for our efforts (though did decide to take the cape off for the actual tests!)

    Halloween Weekend Plans!

We are hoping the worst of the weather passes before this afternoon as we are heading over to Kelsall for Halloween fancy dress-age.. was planning to wear a witch hat and black cape but at the moment think I'd get carried away by the wind!! Mini preview of a small part of her outfit.. will post...

How much does your horse cost you a month?

So this was my original reply 5 years ago: Although the kids are now in school so nursery fees are saved, I've now got 2 horses... one on part and one assisted DIY: £585 for both livery (includes bedding for one) £90 a month for shoeing/trimming £70 a month for feed £100 a month for...

Anyone been to Belle Vue - hunter trials

I find because it's so 'old school' - quite a lot of horse/rider combos that haven't whizzed around it before get a bit stuck - sort of fences you wouldn't necessarily see at a typical xc schooling field.. that said I know the jumps over the last year or so have been worked on and lots of nice...

    Weekend plans!

Very late entry to the weekend activities! Seem to have had clashes with local comps at the moment but we did have a biomechanics & flatwork clinic today.. same instructors that we had at camp and was really good to get the (several..) tweaks needed in the biomech session. Not sure there was one...

    Weekend Plans!

Had a fab jumping lesson, definitely rusty but confidence levels stayed throughout- also first time I've actually ridden a course on her rather than stringing a few together - definitely need some more practice but might mean I'm not quite ready to pack away the jump saddle just yet ?

    Weekend Plans!

We have quite a busy weekend ahead which is nice for a change! Kicked off with a dressage clinic at Kelsall this evening with Adam Murdin.. had a massive grin on my face got tons out of it and really enjoyed his approach to working with us. Have also realised I need to stop apologising in...

What makes a good instructor good?

It was, was my first one with new horse and loved the flatwork and biomechanics sessions! XC brought out some issues and some demons but ended day 2 on a smile so all good!

What makes a good instructor good?

AE I am fairly certain we were on the same camp as Katie and came away equally baffled by the SJ lesson! He did however ask what we wanted to achieve and then we warmed up for a good 20 mins of the lesson... however jumps didn't progress higher than about 50cm and we jumped the same 4 jumps...

    OMG it's august weekend plans!

Getting my new dressage saddle fitted so I no longer rock up to competitions in my jump saddle ;) Then Sunday we are off to a local fun ride, haven't taken Ness out to one yet but hoping the spread out start times means we are less likely to get pinned into a big group ? Also hoping that my...

    New Photo comp thread 02/05

Too many of these in my possession... standard leftbehinditis (in my defence apart from being a mega wimp (me), she got very close before taking off!)
