I'm an instructor and I'm currently teaching a little boy and young girl with very similar issues. Infact my little sister has very limited use of her right side and thus cannot grip the reins very well herself. We've tried lots a different things, including all of the aforementioned. However we...
I have 4 Le-Mieux Pro Sport Support boots on all of mine for every day riding schooling and jumping! I'm really happy with them, never seem to be too hot under them either!
Right, so I'm usually quite good a gifts and gift ideas but I'm really struggling to buy for my yard manager/boss/instructor and his wife, I've known them years now, and always have the same problem! Any ideas??
We've had a highland pony for 12yrs:) he's now 28, never once been lame, had a significant injury, dropped his weight, had any thing wrong with his teeth or feet, he's a doddle of pony and and absolute gent! He's our one in a million💕 He hasn't so much as had a bout of mud fever! Doesn't...
They look like Arabians to me?:) the grey look in particular looks to be very obviously Arab, the chestnut less so ...nonetheless beautiful though!
However I am no expert and cannot the understand the posters language!!
I keep mine at work (a riding stables and dressage yard). It's really does have good and bad points, I love being around him all day, it saves time - in the mornings especially, it's so much easier in the winter, I have use of the fantastic facilities, brand new 30x60 indoor & 20x40 outdoor, hot...
We've an Anky on our D gelding and a Kent and Masters on the Mare, both saddles are fantastic in there own right, fit like a glove!:) we too had our boy in a wintec, but as we progressed through the levels, and now we're competing at elementary the Anky does the job perfectly! Perhaps just ask a...
^This, exactly this!! I teach at a fantastic riding school and unless there is a very specific reason or it's not long term, it is wildly infuriating when people request the same horses over and over, especially when it's the safest, easiest horse going that is needed for weeker riders, any RS...
I love Connies! I think there absolutely amazing alrounders, there one to suit pretty much any rider doing any job!
They're pretty, versatile and can be very talented little horses that tend to very sensible.
The only thing I've found with them, it's they thrive in work, but aren't as good...
Pip is an Ex Polo Pony and she does have many good qualities! She loads and travels impeccably, she's seen a lot and is as near to 100% bombproof as they come (you can't find a much better horse to hack!). You can wave things around her, dress her up, she's pretty sensible most of the time...
Does anybody else have a horse who doesn't cope with being sectioned into a smaller paddock?
We have a few out on a big rectangular field and have run two strips of electric fencing across to split it into 3 smaller paddocks.
My boy is in the top section, there's a big gelding in the middle...
Of course it's up to you what you do! She's your horse and you know your own capabilities etc.
I personally would not have got off in such a situation, simply because I feel horses don't need to learn that there is something to worry about and that should they become scared they require a...
