Hi, I've got a lightweight turnout from Ruggles and it is fine and fits well. Service good too. Quality may not be top of the range, but prices ok I thought.
Hi I have a Balance jump saddle and it's brilliant - allowed my mare to develop her back and not have a sore back again. I tried many saddles and this was the best, with such a good philosophy behind it. I don't find the pads annoying - they're lovely and soft for the horse, and they don't slip...
Hmm, know what you mean about scruffy cometitors, but feel the 'I got my pic in H&H' thing might turn it around! Also the 'accidentally scruffy' compared to 'no effort' may not be easy.
Acknowledgement for best turned out is a good idea though
Perhaps pics in H&H for those who have put...
Thanks for the input. The ones I have seen did the short step thing on straight lines as well as circle, but you're right - going round in the paddock could affect it.
Ally, that's interesting about your eventer, and the vet checking him out but finding nothing wrong. I take it he never...
Not sure if this is right place to post this, but seems to be all sorts of questions so will try it! Just interest really - I've noticed when watching racehorses go round in the parade ring before a race that some of them take a shorter step with one hind leg than the other. Obviously they are...
Hi, I have a Balance saddlef or my TB ex-racer and it's been great. Her back stays soft and and she moves much better. She did have a sore back and had physio and got the Balance when her back was better, and it's stayed that way
I was put off originally by the pads/shims but when I actually...
Not sure if thi will be any help, but will post it anyway. I think that constant chewing can be nervousness from racing days. My ex-racer never did it, but I know others that did. If all the usual checks are fine and the bit is in the right place etc, then in my opinion he just needs to be happy...
Hi, I use TopSpec for my ex-racer mare. She came looking a bit poor and ribby, but now looks great. Of course, she gets plenty of haylage/grass/chaff too. In fact, was wondering if i should stop giving it to her now she looks so good but then thought - silly idea, cos it's obviously helped her...
Maybe when she is non-stressed/under pressure, say just in the stable or yard, try getting her moving forwards and back of the same signal each time and stop the signal as soon as she does it. You could tap her with a whip to bring her forward, or pull forward on the reins or whatever you like...
Not sure if this is allowed and very sorry if it isn't but as the subject was being discussed....I have an Equilibrium massage pad for sale, used only a couple of times then sold horse. Perfect condition, with bag, but threw the box away. Let me know if interested.

She was about to come out to me and sounded very good but I then had horsey problem so had to cancel.
I havn't tried the Semiflex because no-one stocks them round here, but tried Total saddle solutions and other treeless and treed saddles. However, I can completely recommend a Balance saddle. It's not treeless, but is designed with the horse's comfort and anatomy in mind. It is the only saddle...
