Not sure if it would come up that high in the leg but we had a gelding that got lyphengitis (not sure on spelling) and that was very similar to how you discribe the weeping of fluids from the skin. Don't know much about it but hope it helps..

My mare waxed up so we brought her in from the field then all eveing she was rubbing her bum like mad. She foaled that night at 3.30 had never seen her rub her bum like that until. then. If i was you from my limmited experience i would keep an eye on her.
