Yes I use the ice bandages and love them much more effective the ones I use are called equi-n-ice google it cause their website is really good. First purchase it's more expensive than clay but in the long run I would say its probably cheaper and soooo much easier to use!!!
Turnout can be a bit hit and miss though as it's very wet it is a moss!! And if you work 9-5 you may struggle to get arena space - it tends to be rather busy!!
I would say it depends on your dressage saddle - my pony takes a 42"-44" gp girth and has a 26" dressage girth - a lot of the dressage girths don't come any shorter than that. So that may be a start!!
