I think you’ve done the right thing, some ponies do take a while to settle down in their new home. Our old section A took yonks to settle, I had to leave a headcollar on her, and it ended up she took to my daughter catching her and handling her, she was nervous of adults, but she did come round...

Yes that is true..I had one! A good doer, developed ppid, he did cost more but still not as much as a horse that needs 2 feeds a day on poor grazing..it’s all about getting what is needed, not what is wanted..matchy matchy isnt a need.

You’re all gonna hate me but....compulsory licensing, properly organised by knowledgable people, compulsory training after license granted, compulsory neutering/spaying, home spot checks, animals in rescue homes have limited time to be rehomed before being pts, it’s mentally poor for animals...

It depends on the type of horse too..a good doer or a horse that needs several feeds..esp in winter..

Can highly recommend birtles equestrian, down near Holmes chapel, don5 be put off by the distance, it’s about 15 mins away, and well worth the drive, good selection of horses, and you will learn to ride not be a passenger, plus ask Sally (who owns it) for opportunity to help out if you are...

About time they went back to the much earlier years where horses and ponies were fit for purpose, fit for the show class they were entering and riders too, I was appalled at cheshir show a few years ago, watching puffing fat ponies being ridden around by hard handed over weight riders..and badly...
