much agreed, angle of the article will be that we either need a greater amount of off road hacking for safetys sake or a greater level of attention placed on instructing drivers in how to drive in the countryside!

I agree with both these points. If you look at other smaller sports which get good publicity they have recognisable faces who have come out of success from at the top level of the public spectrum i.e. Sir Chris Hoy/ Victoria Pendleton - cycling, Nathan Robertson/Gail Emms - Badminton, Tom Daley...
