Oh right, that's really rubbish. I thought the BHS stood for welfare and safety of horses, and safety for people handling and riding them. How can they just ignore it, the videos were not nice viewing at all.
This seems a sensible way to do it, if you take off too much you can't put it back on! At least this way you can assess if its necessary to do more. :)
When I was learning to drive last year, my driving instructor took me out when most main roads were cleared. My street was still snowy and icy, we were doing less than 10mph and he told me to stamp on the brakes to feel what it was like to skid. This was on an empty road if anyone is...
Fat ponies, forced outlines, pony club mums who make their own kids cry, ringside "experts" at shows (any level), cr*p riding instructors.
I think that's it. For now.... :D
I agree with this. Less students will be beneficial, if I hear the phrase "degrees are worthless" one more time, I may go mad! I just feel that using money to do it isn't the best way. No matter what happens, someone gets hurt. I hope one day there will be a far better system in place. One...
^^ This!! They're the idiots camping in our blummin cafe!!!! What people aren't seeing is the majority of us in lectures getting on with it!!
I suppose it really is just too much for some to imagine that we're all of that mentality and use stupid phrases like "get a proper job". I had a...
I recognise that arena! :p
Haven't ridden him before though so don't know what he's like. Don't worry so much about size, I once went to see a horse for share (about 16hh I think) and it was pushy on the ground and had no manners, I didn't bother getting on as it would have been a disaster...
What is with all the "they don't deserve" and "they're all this that and the other"? People need to look beyond this crap, because there are a lot of students out there who are just as annoyed by the rioting. We're the ones you don't see because we've picked up the novel idea of, you know...
They're a bit unorganised so I've only been able to get in one lesson since uni so I don't know any of the horses. I think I'll give it a miss this time, and give it a go when I've found a horse I'm confident on. Don't want to make myself even more scaredy!
Thanks for the advice and pics. :)
Ok, so this is me jumping at the riding school I went to before I came to uni.
This one is most recent, I know its silly because he is much bigger, but I'm not so confident on him. This jump was a big challenge for me. The biggest I've jumped with him and I fell off attempting it when it...
Its through the uni club, they're doing a competition for people who do lessons with them. You have to do a dressage test and jump a course. I thought about giving it a go but I haven't done very much jumping. Maybe I'll wait until I've had some more jump lessons and have a go another time...
