Thanks so much to everyone who has replied - I really appreciate it and it's given me some great food for thought.
It's definitely a fair comment that I've pushed him on of late so I'll definitely take a step back and consolidate. I'm also going to get my instructor (list 1 DR judge) to sit on...
At my wits end having a lovely, capable horse who unfortunately spends a lot of his time (around 70%) he has a bit in chewing, chomping, opening mouth and fiddling with the bit. Obviously this is killing our dressage marks as looks v unsightly and also stops him being truly round as blocks him...
Am blown away by all the responses here guys-many thanks!!
Interesting that it seems like Novice/JRN is the popular opinion... I had initially thought the BGR route would be most popular..
Vrin-we thought he'd be ideal for BGR as he is a DC machine and generally scores mid 20s DR (does pure DR...
Many thanks for your response! Hope this doesn't get pulled-he is definitely not for sale, I'm just assessing how best to prepare for a sale later in the year.
Good points re being proven at that height...I guess I was just concerned he got points and ruled himself out of BGR right away...
Apologies if this isn't allowed but I will very sadly be selling my talented boy at some point this year.
I'm trying to gauge if there is a better market for a potential Badminton Grassroots eventer OR better to be currently competing BE Novice?
Issue being he is 15.2hh so I'm wondering if...
Thanks all for the responses!
Such a shame it's not better publicised. Were the classes well subscribed in past years? Bit concerned that because it's on a Friday it might not have the same "buzz".
Has anyone been to the SF dressage finals in recent years? Have qualified 2 horses but struggling to find much (any?!) info on the champs/set up/prizes etc.
Any thoughts/experiences welcome as need to decide as it would be a 4 hour trip for me eep!
(Also in Scotland Forum)
Thanks 😄

I'm very proud to say my 20yo is currently competing, and affiliated, in all spheres! We do BE, BS and BD, and although I've dropped him down a couple of levels jumping, he is about to upgrade to Medium dressage 😄.
What tarrsteps says is very relevant -I try to keep his workload...
Thanks all for your help!
Spring Feather that makes a lot of sense-now I know! I found out Jalisco B is a French bred Selle Francais line so definitely no KWPN involved.
She was bred in Ireland so no B for me!
Hello,
Looking to find out what a B suffix means if anyone can help?
My new horse has a few "B" horses in her pedigree, eg Jalisco B, and I'm wondering what it means.
Also as she is unnamed currently, could I use B after her name when I reg her to keep the line?
Thanks!
