    Bitless bridles

If the bit is acting on the teeth then something is very wrong in it's fit and/or use! And bits can also act on the tongue, palate, and, via te rest of the bridle, the poll.

Has anyone had behavioural changes with speedibeet?

Maybe stop it for a week or so and then try adding back a tiny amount?

Has anyone had behavioural changes with speedibeet?

Mine loves the taste of it and a friend recently gave me half a sack so I've tried letting my current lad have a bit again - in the past it made him spookier, but we've come a long way since then - but I'm literally giving him two 30ml supplement scoops of the dried stuff morning and night and...

Which calmer for horse that’s on box rest but can be walked on roads? Any advice welcome. Thanks

I wouldn't bother with calmers, I'd be asking the vet for Sedalin or Domesedan, Sedalin is fine for taking the edge off, Domesedan packs more of a punch but ask them which they think is most suitable for your needs. If it has to be in hand walking on the roads can you draft in a couple of...

Has anyone had behavioural changes with speedibeet?

Given that the first listed ingredient in VV is beet pulp I'd be less inclined to think the Speedibeet is the cause unless you're giving a lot of it. As @spotty_pony2 says many are feeling a bit bright at the moment so it could be as siple as that. Obviously there's no harm in replacing it with...

Has anyone had behavioural changes with speedibeet?

Yes, I've known a few react to it. A friend had an intermediate eventer that became almost unrideable on it, and I had a horse who after a few days became so unpleasant even the other horses avoided him. To be fair it wasn't specifically Speedibeet, any form of beet would have the same effect.

SupaSalt Pure Salt Block Safe for Horses?

I can't see why not, salt is salt.

Neck rugs on turnouts for heavy rain

The narrow but deep neck may be the problem, my lad is wide for the size of him with massive shoulders and a high set heavy cresty neck that has a deceptive length to it - he's late cut and out of a Welsh D by a Hackney x cob. Just out of interest was the Rambo original one that had normal chest...

Neck rugs on turnouts for heavy rain

@Swift00 was it the Amigos and Rhinos you had (your first post) or the Rhinos and Rambos which you said later? The cut on them is different. My lad simply doesn't fit into Amigos, not even if I go up a size, and while he will squish into a Rhino they're tight and rub after a while. Rambos are a...

Allen and Page Fast Fibre recall

@Barklands to me a cup full of linseed is a fairly significant amount of something that's normally fed at low volume. From A&P's site the ingredients of FF are: Nutritionally Improved Straw Pellets, Oat Feed, Molasses Free Beet Pulp, Linseed Expeller (8.1%), Di-calcium Phosphate, Calcium...

Neck rugs on turnouts for heavy rain

Now I find the opposite, combos rub the mane out on a big neck. Also it's often possible to buy a bigger size hood if it's detachable, though my rug wardrobe has plenty of hoods where I've had all the straps lengthened to go round - I think Rambo are the only one where I haven't had this...

    Bedding for a damp stable

Can you use straw? If you can then I'd suggest a wood pellet base to soak up the wet and a straw bed on top. The wet will mostly drain through the straw into the pellets which you remove as needed (I find fluffing them up a few times a week helps them last longer) while your horse will have a...

Allen and Page Fast Fibre recall

You have to be feeding a significant amount before this becomes a problem, even if the Fast Fibre had a higher amount than normal in it it was still only part of the feed and it feels unlikely that people would be feeding it in such a quantity that extra vit e would be needed. Also a few feeds...

Allen and Page Fast Fibre recall

If it's too much linseed was added then the problem is that the nutritional analysis is wrong.

Allen and Page Fast Fibre recall

This may be pure coincidence, if it was the feed I'd have expected there to be reports of other cases since it's a popular product. Either way I hope the horse makes a full and quick recovery.
