    Bitless bridles

You'll need to be very careful with the fitting since they act on facial pressure so you'll have to avoid areas that swell or putting pressure over areas where she's had dental problems. I'm not an expert so can't recommend a style. Would a soft bit like nathe be an option?

    Trying to switch loan horses

I fear you going from one bad option to another, particularly if you aren't a very confident rider. Getting on something that hasn't been ridden for three or four months isn't something to do lightly, and the owner doesn't even know the horse well enough to know how it's likely to react. Don't...

Looking for a very gentle metal bit for a horse with a short smile, small face, and quite a wide tongue

I'd suggest trying a slim mullen - not straight bar - snaffle.

    Bum high 5 yr old

@dottylottie you do know you could easily reregister the overheight C as a D if you wanted to? Bum high in Ds is fairly common. My part-bred is but it certainly isn't an issue under saddle when he puts his rather spectacular bottom under himself, lifts the front end and is a powerful but very...

    Saddle problems

I don't think it's possible to recommend a saddle but I'd suggest getting a saddle fitter out who can bring plenty of different ones for you to try - the saddle has to fit you as well as the horse. It might even be that a slight change in the flocking, or even the padding in the seat, would help...

    BE new 60cm class.

I feel there's a point where you should be asking yourself if you're ready to go out and compete or if the money would be better spent on lessons.

    Hay prices

Where I am some suppliers are buying in from Ireland and I'm not surprised they're then having to charge a lot for it. Farmers are saying they were doing well to get a third of their normal crop though a lot of what they did get was nice. I'm lucky, my regular supplier has enough to supply me...

What would you think of a yard that doesn't ask new arrivals for a strangles test and doesn't quarantine?

I've never been on a yard that quarantines or wants a blood test, the closest was one yard that insisted any horses bought from a particular loca dealer were quarantined in a field away from the main yard for 3 weeks. To me it makes very little sense unless horses coming back from competitions...

    Sleep well Blueberry & Uti

My sympathy to everyone involved. It's rarely an easy decision and always a heartbreaking one, but I do think letting them go together was a last kindness.

    Would you buy this horse?

I wouldn't have him if they paid me! Even if you just wanted to rescue him and keep him as a companion he's going to cost you money to keep him comfortable.

    Horse’s confirmation

The conformation won't make it fail a vetting though a vet may comment on it for suitability and implications. The fact they'repushing for no vetting makes me wonder if there are other issues.

    Goodbye Lari

I'm so sorry Anne. I don't think anyone could have done any more than you did and youwere right to let him go pain free and in the company of those who loved him. Bless you 🤗

    Is it legal?

Looking at where you are it isn't going to be the same person, and with where I saw them and where I know they wre going it would be at least a couple of miles on the roads.

    Is it legal?

Mare was being ridden, not led. The road was a narrow country lane with poor visibility that carries a fair amount of traffic.

    Is it legal?

If people are moving even a small herd of sheep or cattle on the road they have more people than that to hand to warn other road users and keep the group together.
