Clippers for feather

I have liveryman Harmon clippers, I also have a heavily feathered mini gypsy cob. Is it possible to get blades to clip the feather but not very short? And will a narrow blade fit the clippers? I have wide blades at the moment for giving my riding horse a clip but I think narrow would be better on the little ponies legs. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what blades your clippers will take, but if you clip in the direction of the feather and don't apply too much pressure it will shorten them rather than fully clip.

You want the 3/4F blades. They come in narrow/standard. Leave 13mm of hair.

I use narrow 5F blades on my Liveryman Harmonies for legs and feather. They leave a 6.3mm cut, which is much longer and more natural looking than standard blades which are about 2.4mm cut.

Narrow blades are easier to use on heels and pasterns than wide blades.

I use the narrow 10 blade on my clippers for feathers but use a comb/guard thingy to stop it getting too short - will attach pic. But Tiddlypom's blade looks better!
