no i haven't done any, he's a relatively good example of his breed, but he doesn't have the flashy movement of, for example, the welshies in the m&m classes. which i think is one of the main problems for new forest ponies :)

something that seems to be common (or from what I've experienced) is so many judges don't seem to be able to recognize a new forest! I've been told my pony 'is a nice pony but isn't a great example of the [Connemara] breed' when he's a pure nf pony!!

I recently bought some new long boots and no matter how tight my spurs are, they slide up at the back. They stay in the same place at the front, but just the back of them slides up if that makes sense. I've tried bending the metal so they are tighter, tighter straps, and children's spurs but all...

going slightly against the grain here- Warmbloods- I've never met one that's had any brains whatsoever and compared to my natives they are so complicated! very much a generalisation though and I'm sure there are some lovely ones out there that i just haven't come across!

Cannot recommend Ariat grasmeres enough! i bought my first pair last winter and i wore them to the yard everyday and they kept my feet warm and dry. They are very comfortable to hack in, although as ester said for schooling etc i wore my normal boots. My mum had hers for 5 years with daily wear...
