spurs keep moving

I recently bought some new long boots and no matter how tight my spurs are, they slide up at the back. They stay in the same place at the front, but just the back of them slides up if that makes sense. I've tried bending the metal so they are tighter, tighter straps, and children's spurs but all of them move and i have to keep pushing them back down. I think it's probably because i have very slim ankles. Are the rubber covered spurs better at staying still? Or does anyone have any recommendations for spurs that don't move?

Thanks for this thread OP as I have trouble with spurs slipping down. If I bend the metal, I then can't get them on or off. Thanks for the suggestion of spur covers. Have just ordered a pair.

Where are you putting them? I see lots too low. They should be on the ankle seam of your boots, not your heel. I don't mean the metal part pointing up, but the spur straps adjusted so the metal part is on the ankle seam and horizontal.

Thank you everyone, I've order some rubber covers so hopefully they'll work! sugar and spice i put them so they are resting on the spurs rests?

I've seen boots with spur rests too low down. The fashion seems to be to wear spurs on the heel in recent years, I disagree with it for a few reasons, one of which is the spurs seem more likely to move (point up/down) when used in this way.

I've now tried rubber covers and they have also done absolutely nothing to stop my spurs from moving:mad: Anyone one know any spurs good for very skinny ankles?
